Poison ivy

Addie woke up one morning looking like this. I thought for sure it was a bug bite, so I put some Benadryl lotion on it and she seemed ok.
But then the next morning she looked like this. She woke up very early and our pedi doesn't open until 9, so Matt came home from work and took her to urgent care.
Poor baby! They checked her out and said she had poison ivy. The only problem was that her hands were clear, it was only on her face. Weird.
They were very sweet to her at the er. They gave her a teddy bear and this cute handmade blanket.
Thank you, Cindy Curtis! You made a sickie little girl feel very special.
They prescribed her a mild steroid for 3 days. Wouldn't you know the next day was picture day. Ugh. I sent her to school because I wanted her to be in the class picture but you better believe we'll be doing retakes for her individuals.
After she finished her RX she was still splotchy and itchy so we went back to the pedi where they prescribed her another week of steroids. I was a little worried but she did fine. She never acted any differently.
And we've been splotchy face free for weeks now, so yay!
