and she's off!

yesterday after we got chris off to seminary (lex went to seminary too but then she came home), matt off to work, and addie off to school, we took lexi to the airport for her college adventure! she packed on her own (she is practically an adult after all) and emerged from the pit which is her room with our largest suitcase. i told her that was a big suitcase and i hope she wouldn't go over the luggage weight limit. so here she is, at the airport, taking out 2 of her 6 pairs of jeans for me to take home and putting several pairs of toms and a nice pair of winter jellies (?) into her carry on bag. she managed to get her bag weight from 55lbs to 55.05lbs. that girl.
i asked her if she'd like us to come back to the gate with her and she was like "are you crazy? yes!" and i pointed out to her that she was almost an adult and that on her return trip mindy probably wouldn't be walking her to her gate. she decided i needed to show her how just one more time and then she'd be ready to fly solo on her way back home. so to the gate we go. that girl.

little miss daddy's daughter. "please, airplane!" hopefully she stays this excited for our flight in january!
all lined up and ready to go. and not willing to get into her assigned spot in line (it's rude!) or look at me for a picture. that girl.
this girl has fun no matter where we go. people movers are pretty fun though.
we took this in the parking garage so we could send it to lexi for when she landed. we decided we missed her already. also, these two were expert travelers! we only had one problem when, as we drove through charlotte hall delaney tried an illegal maneuver to get out of her carseat and ended up somehow getting her arm and head stuck. we pulled over and set her right and all was well.
i will not say anything to discourage my very late potty trained 3-year-old from going potty on the big girl potty, but i do hate when she insists on using the froggy potty. especially when she comes to me during rest time and says "i went poopy! want to come see it? it's in the froggy!"
when addie got home she was all facebook this, and facebook post that. i'm sure i don't know where all that came from, but apparently this is her fb post. oh my.
last time i went grocery shopping i asked the big kids what they'd like for dinner. christian came up with sloppy joe croissants. apparently he saw this idea on tv, so he made it for us last night. and i didn't have a sloppy joe packet, so he made it from scratch. and they were delicious. good boy!
i got a phone call that lu made it to salt lake city and mindy had picked her up. i asked for pictures and then sent her an i love you and goodnight text but haven't heard anything back yet. i'm sure it's just that she's having so much fun. that girl.

I'm so excited for her! Keep us posted, if you actually hear from her that is. :)
