Lighthouse #8 - Tillamook Rock

Our next stop was to Terrible Tilly. She's out on a rock all by herself. One of the designers fell to his death climbing off the boat his first visit to the rock. The builders went through so many hardships throughout her building.
We viewed this one from Ecola state park. Yes, like Ebola, but Ecola. Super cool.
We got there and looked and looked until finally dad showed us where the light was out on the rock. So lonely!
What I wouldn't give to pay her a visit! This light was bought to be made into a moratorium where they would inter people's ashes, but they didn't have the right permits, so they closed it down.
Yassss!!!
Our next stop was to be at the Cannon Beach Historical Center to get the stamp for tilly, but as we were driving through Cannon Beach, the most congested area of Oregon, dad and I saw a sign for it. We had originally mapped it as being more on the way after we left, but we decided to turn around and see if that was it so we wouldn't have to go through town again. It was! We were able to shave some time off our schedule since we were behind from the get-go at light #1. Hooray for shaving time! And for amazing lights! And for stamps!
