Day #6 - water balloons

A few days before our trip I saw one of those cool things that fills up 100 water balloons in 1 minute and just had to buy it.
So on the last day, we called the kids outside to "show them something," and ambushed them.
Everyone laughed and had a good time.
It was great.
The kids would pick up the water balloons that hadn't popped, and throw them back at us.
Delaney, who at any given moment is on the verge of anger, was loving it and laughing it up...
until Chris dumped a bucket of water on her. Water that had filled water balloons and that had filled them hot. (hot hoses are heaven) The water was still hot when it dumped on her and she was so beside herself.
Oh, big brothers.

The water balloons were fun while we were throwing them, but there were no less than 3 kids in tears by the end.

The night of the bonfire we had ambushed the kids with silly string too. We'd gathered them together and each adult had a can. It was so much fun! There were a few cryers that night too though. bad parenting? Maybe, but I like to think of it as young at heart. (;
