tinicum island rear range, nj - lighthouse #31

this was the only picture we took of the whole outside of tinicum light!
can you see who we met up with? our biker friend, mike! :)
loving the mums! i love me some fall decor!
they had a fun little display set up at the base of the light.
posting this next one purely on principle. i've had this on my phone all these months, and it's a terrible picture! why did i save this? to be immortalized her forever, obv.
and then we headed up! that's philadelphia there across the water!
we were so excited to get here and get our final game pieces!
we were finishers! not first finishers, like in md, but finishers. felt so good!
the lighthouse was right next to a sports complex. now there's a little league game that i can get into!
m - it was crazy to be on top without a covering (short rail after all) and i love the fall colors!
s - hobbit door and pretty mums at the bottom
l - saw philly skyline, made friends with biker dude, mike
now look how low that rail is!
i didn't realize what had made me feel so unsafe atop this light, i had thought the finns point light had a top cover, and that's why this one felt so open.
but now, 4 months later, as i am trying to blog this, was trying to figure out which skeletal tower was which,  i realized it was just that the rail was so low. made it feel crazy open!
ahhhh, the golden hour!
the sun was just beginning to set, one of my favorite times of the day!!!
we loved the little hobbit door!

this was finally it, our last light of the weekend (maybe…) and we were so happy.
tired, but very, very happy.
shelly was trying to teach us the fine art of the "look away" selfie.
we're not very good at it.
i am in love with laura's face here, and her horns! and me… i don't even know!
we'll keep working on it. ;)
top'o'the'world to ya.
i also didn't realize, until i started blogging these, that finns point and tinicum both had the same door. the address is different, (obviously) and this one has a bigger room at the base.
the volunteer that took these pictures was a local guy that had played on this lighthouse as a young guy. oh how fun!
this was when we really visited with to our buddy, mike. we finally had the time to, so we did. they were some fun guys! i kind of like the biker mentality, the hanging out together, going fun places and stopping to eat. who knows what will happen someday? ;)
