of pumpkin patches and baseball games

it's fitting that i would be posting about pumpkin patches in february. ;)

it's always a favorite playgroup so i can't leave it out!
ellie wanted to sit by me and then adeline didn't cry when i held her! we love our aina's!
 i spy some cute kids!

this was one beautiful day in october that we went to the pumpkin patch and stayed all afternoon.
 haha.
the night before our nj lighthouse challenge (coming soon to a blog near you!!!) christian had his last baseball game. perhaps last ever if i can't talk him into playing again this spring. :(
their coach was fabulous and encouraging. for their last game he let each of the boys play whatever position they wanted. chris pitched! almost 6 years ago, right after we moved to maryland, christian was 11 and one of his coaches had him pitch. the coach of the other team was not happy. i can't remember if they were losing or what, but he made a big stink about the distance the pitcher stood from the mound, even going as far as taking a measuring tape to it. the whole thing just put a bad spin on pitching for christian, and he's never wanted to do it since. good reminder to me that little things to adults become big things to children.
anyways, he pitched and did a pretty good little job. it was a happy night. :)
i feel like i've already written this, but there was a boy that had struggled all season. all season he'd not gotten many hits or good plays. he also wanted to pitch, and he did and struck out the final batter. everyone cheered and it was just such good sportsmanship, it was really awesome.
good memories. :)
