fort wadsworth, ny - lighthouse #8

after elms beach, we finally spent some time in the car to drive over to fort wadsworth. right across the water from the statue of liberty and the big city!
the fort is open, like, one day a month. and despite making calls and our patented lighthouse begging, it wasn't open the day we were there. this was as close as we could get, unfortunately.
she's pretty, right?
we only have laura's reply to this one, probably because we all felt the same way.
l - "love the fort, heartbreaking it isn't open for visitors. peaceful, quiet, but surrounded by noise."
it was like in this little protected area that was quiet and away from all the chaos nearby, it was really cool.
hahahaha, selfies with the big camera aren't easy! especially when you've been zooming trying to take a picture of a lighthouse. how we laughed and laughed!
she was finally able to take it by holding the camera upside down. and i don't know enough about dropbox to edit. hahaha, aren't lighthousers awesome?!
by this point, we'd been at it all morning and getting into the afternoon.
no time to stop for lunch though, so away we go!
