frankie's first day was thursday, august 21. her bus was supposed to come at 12:24, so i had my alarm set for 12:19 to head out. we ate a leisurely lunch and frankie was so excited that she had her backpack on throughout lunch. i went upstairs to get her toothbrush, and while i was coming down i heard the door shut. i looked outside to call frankie back in, and saw alexis and frankie running down the street for the bus! 10 minutes early!!! i was like "wait!" and i ran out after them barefoot. then laney ran after me in just her diaper (potty training probz). we were a hot mess all running in a line towards the bus.
lexi just happened to be walking by the front door and saw the bus drive by. she grabbed her shoes and told frankie to go. frankie was trying to open the door and crying (like she does). lexi said it was so cute and pathetic. and then as they ran, frankie was crying because i wasn't there and she was all nervous. i caught up to them, soothed frankie, and told lexi to take a picture, (she was on her phone) and here we have this cute, calmed down, pre-k girl. i hated sending her off in such a chaotic way, but she had a great day despite the rocky start.
