craighill channel upper front lighthouse

the channel lights are interesting. the range lights guide ships into the deep channels and they are lined up to provide an easy to follow guide. it's all so well thought out and fascinating. the two on the left (from the top) are the upper rear and upper front, and on the right (from the top) the lower rear and lower front. just to give some background. :)

after the lower rear we headed diagonally to the upper front that's in the distance here.

this is unlike any lighthouse i'd ever seen!
it's like a cute little british telephone booth.
so crazy, like who came up with this and thought it would actually work?
that's a va hospital behind the light. last year laura and i tried to get on that base to catch a view of this little cutie, but the base guard was closing down his gate a good 15 minutes early. and when we begged and pleaded he said we weren't allowed to take pictures anyway. not friendly guard.
this was laura's favorite light of the day. it's a pretty cool one!
a few last shots as we drive on by, you cute little thing.
