mother's day trip - ocracoke island lighthouse #6

our first stop was the lighthouse! ocracoke island is the cutest tiniest little thing!
and the lighthouse fits the island perfectly.

unfortunately, the lighthouse is owned by the coast guard (it's still functioning), so it's not open for climbing, darnit!
 hopefully someday!
if there was anyone there to beg, we would have begged. some of us did beg. alas, to no avail.

you see that broken slat in the door?
this is what you can see inside it. doesn't it look perfect for climbing?! it's not even that high, they really just need to go for it. i'll let them know.

isn't this a cool tree!
and there's a little tiny graveyard beyond the fence.
i just love lighthouse history!
we spent a lot of time trying to fit all of our faces + backgrounds into pictures.
like, a lot of time.
from the lighthouse we went over to our castle bed and breakfast and walked all around the roof balcony.
it was gorgeous! and a beautiful, cool night.
with a great view of the lighthouse.
love ocracoke island!
