fresh new week

that alarm clock sure goes off early after 4 day weekends! but here it is, a fresh new week.
last night lexi and chris went to the big seminary party and auction. sis krugman is an awesome teacher and she gives so much to her calling. i gotta say though, at the beginning of the year when she first told me that the kids would be earning 'seminary bucks' and then have a big pizza party/auction at the end of the year, i wasn't too sure how it would all play out. you never know with teenagers and if just one of them started talking about how lame it was, they could have all jumped on that bandwagon and not participated. but to everyone's credit, no one did! and at the bbq yesterday they were all speculating about the auction, what they were taking, and what they could buy, it was really cute.
chris brought home a mini old fashioned popcorn maker that spencer picked up at a yard sale (don't think about it too hard, it'll gross you out) and was excited to pop dat corn! don't mind nakie addie. this was a post bath, 'come quick!' kinda popcorn adventure. pretty fun!
speaking of fun...
frankie is taking more interest in what she wears. it's not bad, yet, so i am cautiously optimistic. she is still waking up at the crack of dawn every morning, no matter what time she goes to bed. sometimes she'll go back to sleep if i lay down with her, but the problem is that i fall asleep too.
and addie the engineer. she's still super into writing and coloring. she has tons of little notebooks and she works on them all day. she does a lot of pretend writing, just strings of letters, but she's also starting to put sounds together to form words. playing with sidewalk chalk with neighbor crystal, addie wrote 'cat,' so then crystal wrote 'apple.' you know, those are about the same level, right? ;)
after my girls trip, i was buried up to my eyeballs in paperwork. school papers, newspapers, coupons, bills, art, magazines... ugh. i've worked really hard and gone through that giant stack. the problem is that it just keeps coming!
loving this mild weather! and that these two love each other. 'bubba,' is one of delaneys most favorite words.
also, we love pancakes. and creative kids.
the 3-year-old attempt at a pancake beard. not too shabby.
it was a good weekend. on friday morning matt and i wrote out a short list of things we wanted to do and we got through all but 2. we also did a lot of fun stuff, so it was a nice balance ,and no drama! that makes it an a+ weekend to me!
chris took this pic the day we got haircuts and applebees.
dat's my posse!
little miss frankie-frog has started kindergym!!! that means that she goes into class all by herself, with no mama help. she's technically supposed to be fully potty trained, but i'm pushing the limits, and maybe hoping that can get her motivated? before her first class we had a long talk about not pooing during gymnastics. so then the next week, before i even brought it up she told me "and we don't poo when we're at gymnastics, uh-uh." 2 classes down and we've been poo-free, lets hope it keeps going that way.
frankie's on the left in the black leotard.
she's doing great! she's by far the youngest (it's for 3-5 year olds) and has had a little bit of trouble listening, but she gets back on track pretty quick. when coach gives directions, frankie looks around to see what the other kids are doing and then enthusiastically follows along. big girl!

cousin quinn sent laney this dog book for her birthday and it quickly became her fav. now she carries it around with her and begs people to read it. the problem is that it's so heavy that she drops it a lot, and now it's broken apart. also, it has some moving parts, like the dog is supposed to scratch himself, but excited 1-year-old fingers have gotten to it and now the leg to scratch is gone.
i've got lots of things to do this week, (doesn't that sound better than, it's gonna be a busy week!) including planning for 2 june 3rd birthdays, 1 birthday party, 1 rs lesson, 1 rs activity, 1 big family reunion, 1 small family reunion, all the fun end-of-year activities, and the care and feeding of 5 children. and 1 husband.
let's do dis!
