Day #154

We are in a massive rainy season. Yesterday and today were brisk and beautiful and wet. We didn’t have to turn the ac on until this afternoon, it was so nice with just the open windows and breeze. My only problem with this is our yard. We are fully committed to resolving our drainage issues, and at this point have had someone from the county and SMECO come out. Our electric and internet box are both caving in because the ground is always completely saturated, and there was a full-on hole under one. Everyone that’s come out has been shocked at how swampy our side yards are. They’ve been very nice and say they want to be helpful, but ultimately they have also  passed the buck. It would be amazing if qbhi would fix the problem for us, since we’ve brought it to their attention several times over the years and the grade and drain of our yard was not done properly, but I’m 90% certain they won’t do anything about it and I don’t know if we have any good options. It’s frustrating, but that’s home ownership, I guess.

Emmi and I played outside for awhile and he was wanted to splash in the pool, and one thing lead to another.

Matt and I spent the majority of our day working on our closet. We received 14 of our 17 boxes yesterday, with no explanation where the last 3 were, and they weren’t on the ups tracking. I finally managed to get someone from easy closets on the line and the last 3 boxes will be here Monday. So we knew we wouldn’t be able to finish. Alli and I inventoried and organized everything, and Matt measured, cut, and hung the rails,  so it should go fairly quickly on Monday. 🤞🏼

As i fed Emmi dinner I pretended to guzzle his water and he laughed and laughed.

He’s got an orange in his mouth.

Full on belly laughing. He is so fun.

Papa and Alli picked up movie theater popcorn as a special event for RC theater and we watched Shazaam and enjoyed our first taste of movie popcorn in a really long time.
