Day #38

It’s Earth Day! And National Picnic Day! And National Jelly Bean Day! A busy day for us! The girls did a rotation of piano while I tutored Ruby, and then we set off on our lunch adventure. I had ordered a new retainer before the time of ‘rona, and then forgot about it. They called the other day and said I could just park and they’d bring it out to me, and our dentist is right near another school giving out lunches, so we killed 2 birds with 1 stone. Then it was picnic time!

F&D found the flowers for our picnic, and Addie insisted on lemonade.

Also, we use umbrellas because our skincare is important.

Frankie and D had a scuffle in their flower hunt, so D stayed out of sorts throughout the duration of the picnic. She kept to herself, so oh well.

Dad picnic’d with us, but he’s a party pooper and insisted on a chair. What are you gonna do?

It was a lovely day and we sat and visited for a long time. But the girls still had school and piano to get to, so they took turns inside. D came back out and I was able to cuddle her back to a good mood. My bratty baby.

Sandy and Amy think visors are lame, but they are wrong. I think they are perfect for exercising and the beach. One day last year this beauty showed up in the mail. Broke her out for her inaugural run at the picnic. Pretty, right? 😂

Silliest.

Our neighbor had a birthday and her mom asked everyone to write messages in Easter eggs and hide them around the yard for her to find. So creative, I love it!

The girls loved writing fun messages and hiding them.

All these fun ‘rona birthdays.

The girls made up and were able to mostly keep it together for primary activities.  Until Frankie’s King Benjamin tower kept falling over and she finally got mad and threw it down. Not the best, but she’s the oldest primary girl by a lot (there’s one other her age, but she doesn’t participate in the virtual meetings), she’s with her sister and all the girls Delaney’s age, and this is such a weird time. And it stinks when King Benjamin’s tower just wont stand up, so whatever.

For jelly bean day we broke out our Bertie Bott’s beans and had some face offs.

It’s a silly and fun game.

They both got yucky ones.

Delaney had made a key for each of the flavors options and the girls thought over their choices.

Also, that bag is never ending!

After scriptures tonight, D came over and gave me a big hug. She said “that was so beautiful.” I was a little confused, so I thanked her for the hug and asked her what was beautiful. It was the scriptures. she felt the spirit and it moved her. This is our stubborn girl that almost didn’t get baptized, so this is a big deal. I told her to write about it in her journal so she can always remember. Oh King Benjamin, you get us every time!
