we did more than just wear red shirts - the final chapter

i'd had my eye on a cool little water balloon pump for a long time, so before the reunion i just had to buy it. we filled a few and ambushed some pool goers one day. it was a pretty small attack, so i knew there would be more where that came from. one day when we were at the beach late, we came home to the ambush. it was pretty obvious, but we were good sports about it and it was fun.
tommy was trying to catch them and throw them back at the throwers. he actually caught a few too.
then he took the hose to them.
not really, cause they all had their phones, but it was a fun threat.
cause it's a good picture of the top level of the house.
i had taken pictures of the house... but they got deleted with the rest of my pictures.
boo-hoo.
this was chris coming into the first floor door. the first floor had two bedrooms, mine and matt's and the bunk bed room, and then a main living area with tv and pool table. the little girls slept out there. then the middle level had 5 bedrooms.
we played with sidewalk chalk... again. it's always fun, especially when you love arc as much as addie does.
we experimented with cameras.
we threw glow sticks in the pool to try to light it up. fyi, it doesn't light up the whole pool.
meh, we tried.
we also wore the glow sticks.
we had a lot.
we wore shirts that looked like dresses.
we played and played until we were soooo tired every night.
and then we put babies to bed and played and talked some more.
we ate. :)
we enjoyed our house.
it was about a 15 minute walk to the beach, right at the front of a little community.
it wasn't the nicest house ever, but it was perfect for our needs.
we experimented with more lenses.
and played some more games and ate some more.
one morning (early, like at 9am!) a group of us went to see world war z. papa wanted us to act scared. tjn and i are horrified. amy's having none of it.
while we were there, and since we were the only ones in the theater, i reenacted the scene from when christian and i were at the movies and we had our southern maryland earthquake. i was able to fully reenact it, right down to standing up and shouting "was that an earthquake?"
i find myself to be hilarious.
more games.
more cute and bratty babies.
 and sisters in matching jams.
oh how i love the matchy-matchy.
and cute and bratty teenagers.
we played with toys.

and worked.
thankfully we had lots of helping hands, cause feeding and cleaning up after 23 people is a lot of work!
one day a group of us went to the wright brothers memorial.
matt is always so helpful with the girls. he'll put them to bed, take them to the pool, help however he can so i can spend time with my family. the only thing he really wanted to do was spend a day at the wright brothers memorial, and i was more than happy to accommodate him. and when i say a day, i mean a day. he and my dad read every plaque and really took their time to enjoy it.
half of us stayed home with the kids so they could enjoy it.
a fun day was had by all. :)
they even did a lil' shopping.
joe and sara.
chris and papa shared a room.
 roomies!
we had such a great time. we haven't all been together since joe and sara's wedding in 2007. that's a long time, and we've added like 10 family members since then. i am so thankful that everyone made the reunion a priority and came. i am so thankful for my family. they are so fun and i love them so much. i love living on the east coast, but it would be really nice to be closer to family. we really miss out on a lot living so far away from everyone. we've committed to trying to make our reunions an every two or three years event, and i'm already excited for the next one!
