the school year so far is going swimmingly. i thought 8:09 might be a little too early to send addie off, but it's turned out to be perfect. i have time to get dressed,
(in my momiform = yoga's + tee)
((dang, totally just came up with that "momiform", but upon further googling, i guess it's already a widely used term)),
get everyone ready, and out the door on time. and i haven't had to wake addie up once, she's already been awake every day. delaney hasn't made it out once, but that is just fine by me. :)
frankie and i have had some fun preschool days. she made this flower one day and wanted to show daddy her work, so she took this picture. she still answers with a sweet laugh and an "i don't know!" a lot, but everyday it's getting better and she's finding more of her voice. not that she didn't have a voice before, but it's totally different being the "big kid" at home.
on friday i took addie to a pediatric dentist for a consultation for her 2 cavities.
so, an hour and a half to wait and 5 minutes with a dentist, for him to tell me what i already knew, and had x-rays and a written referral from my dentist to prove, and then $65. also, to be a pediatric dentist i think all you have to do is put a tv in your check-up room.
oh well.
she's a big, brave girl. :)
when we got home, curtis (or turtis, if you're frankie) came over.
they're pretty cute!
b-e-a-utiful sunsets! i love where we live!
christian loves my chicken fried rice, so one night he got home from work and was all excited to heat some up, and... dropped it all over the floor. he was soooo sad! all that yummy rice, just wasted. i tried to convince him it was still good, but he was having none of it.
literally.
friday night and all day saturday lexi was at cheer camp. they had the camp come to the high school this year, instead of the girls going away. matt had to take a navy test, but chris was off from work, so grandpa and i got up early and hit the road by 5am to make a 7am temple session. it was early, but it was good!
we had lunch at chick-fil-a and got home with just enough time to load up our beach-mobile and head out to meet our friends!
we went to drum point beach with watsons, darrows, and ainas (minus tony). matt got home just as we were leaving, but had a weeks worth of homework to finish in not very many hours, so we left him home.
it was a nice warm day and we all had a good time.
frenemies. :)
the water was so nice and we didn't see any jelly's! the darrows brought their paddle board and kayak and we had so much fun using all their toys! i stood up for about a minute on the paddle board, but alas, i am a remedial paddler and couldn't get going. i just kept going in circles and it was no good. next time. :) alecia and i took delaney out in the kayak and little miss big life-jacket fell right to sleep.
it was super sweet.
we got home, took warm baths, and got ready for bed.
then i headed off to the high school to see the girls final performance from their cheer camp.
they stunted and it didn't end perfectly, if i remember correctly lexi came down quickly and not so very gracefully. they (her stunt group) laughed about it the whole rest of the cheer. it's good to have fun, i guess!
they circled up and read their eval's.
then all of varsity and jv performed together. they did good! i think it's gonna be a good season!
then it was time for the awards. both squads got spirit sticks.
yup, spirit sticks.
they claimed they don't give them to everyone, but i'm not buying it.
it was a fun and exhausting day for lex and the cheerleaders!
*flashback!*
a buncha ray's in a bathtub.
in a living room.
also on saturday, christian went to a wedding with jordan and her family.
her dad had a little man-to-man talk with chris.
which i fully support.
on sunday we got our church on.
then after church we popped some corn, cracked the orange soda, and watched the chula vista, ca little league take on japan in the little league world series.
the team is from autumn's neighborhood, so it was a double exciting game! sadly, they lost. :( it was a good game though! and isn't landy cute?!
crystal and family were out in their backyard, so i let the girls play out back too.
then delaney decided she'd like to take dip.
that girl!
that's my frog!
on monday chris worked and lexi had cheer. so after dinner, grandpa and i loaded up the green giant and headed to wally for groceries.
and also, for the girls to spend their cousin money! cousin cosette, or bronco, if you're in the know, (which we are) gave each of the cousins $20 folded up into cool heart origami shapes. anyways, the girls debated and looked and finally settled on a fairy for frankie and a palace pet for addie and laney. so fun! $2 for tithing and the rest to their piggy banks!
rapunzel laney.
she loves dress up!
i let the girls pay for their toys themselves and they were so excited. :)
this morning we had some more excitement on our way to the bus stop when we spied a crane busy working. so after addie left, grandpa took frankie on an adventure to check out the crane. frankie reported that the crane picked up a box. we lead a crazy life up in here!
today we had a rs closet cleaning presidency meeting. it was great and now we know what's in our closet! always good! then i had a lunch date with shirlene to do some vt'ing and check out our new restaraunt noodles and co. when we got there, we ran into lana and johnna, so we all enjoyed lunch together. it was really nice. alecia watched the girls, and when i got there frankie got sad and hid behind alecia, all abused child style. if i didn't know alecia so well it would have been really embarrassing!
we got home right at naptime, so i took delaney up for stories and cuddles, and when i came down, frankie was cashed out. grandpa's are great!
and finally, big sis came to help us pick up lil' sis, and lil' sis had a mean case of school hair.
grandpa and i loaded up the library mobile, where we found out that we're almost a month too late to claim our summer reading prizes. oopsie! i also picked up 10 (yes, 10) wow backpacks. they're specially themed backpacks filled with books, cd's, and games on special subjects, and since we're starting our preschool co-op next week, i stocked up. hopefully they will come in handy for when i ever get time to plan.
bro baldwin came over and helped chris bbq some delicious tilapia to finish off his fishing merit badges. we have 1 1/2 more merit badges left and then it's eagle time!!!
matt completed day 8 of his annual training. 3 more days and it can't go by fast enough! so far he's doing well in his online classes too and every day brings us one step closer to graduation! yay!
and that is our exciting update.
