more summer stuff

one day dad and i found ourselves with a free afternoon... i'm not sure how it happened, or even who was watching the littles, but we were free so we decided to go couponing, yay! that also happened to be the day chic-fil-a was giving away a free 8 piece chicken nugget with purchase of a shake. yay for free stuff!
we enjoyed a nice leisurely lunch at the chic-fil-a. and then a lovely day of couponing at target, kohls, and cvs.
one day papa and chris went out to take pictures.
they stopped and got out at the cute little lake on three notch road and hiked around.
pretty nice!
papa also treated us to a healthy home cooked meal of potato wedges smothered in cheese and bacon. yumm!
chris experimented with sparklers and camera exposures.
pretty cool!
we went to the pool a lot. it was so hot and the pool felt so good!
papa took this picture of me "multitasking." what he failed to mention was that he asked me to watch something online and then took a pic, like i just always surf the web while the girls eat. i don't do that all the time, only half of it. ;)
we rented some redbox movies and watched them together. snuggles!

 and tackles too.

for christian's family life merit badge we started a project where we interviewed papa about his life. he did this with grandma clayton and grandma and grandpa seagrove and i really cherish those movies now that they are gone. we want to interview nani and grandpa ray too. we learned a lot of interesting stuff about papa's life.
one day we watched as frankie slowly fell asleep at the table. it was so cute!
addie wanted to get in on the domino action so she got papa and chris to play some princess dominos with her. she even willingly parted with her doubles! she loves the doubles and has been to known to keep them, thus ensuring that she loses the game.
now she kisses them before she plays them, but at least she plays them!
chris life guarded a bunch. he complains about the heat and the boredom but he has loved his paychecks! and his tan. and getting to know the russian and chinese guys he's worked with. he comes home with lots of stories!
papa and lexi took some senior pictures that resulted in the jump heard 'round the world, and another sprained ankle. this was as the sprain happened. we all got a good chuckle out of this pic - even lexi. i'll post some of the cute pictures they took later.
we went to see one of the amc summer movies. i get texts from amc and they have a summer movie program where they play an older movie at 10pm for only $3. so we planned it all out one night and we were going to see olympus has fallen. papa and lexi were on their way to pick up peter when lexi texted me that ohf was rated r. doh! so then i had to put my money where my mouth is (literally) and offer to pay for a regularly priced non-rated r movie. so we saw ripd instead. it was cute, and all's well that ends well, come to find out that our silly rinky dink theater doesn't even participate in the summer movie program. figures! also, word to the wise, if you ever go to see the last movie of the night, get all the popcorn you want before the movie starts because they throw the popcorn away 15 minutes after the last showing starts. learned that the hard way.
we went shopping one day and i saw this cute license plate.
(southern maryland lights)
i <3 br="" lighthouses="" too="">
we went shopping one day and went to get christian a haircut. papa took delaney for a walk and i thought their silouttes looked cute as they met us at the barber shop.
this boy loves getting his haircut!
and finally, grandpa settled the score. we drove past salsa's one day and he was telling us about the time we took him there... only none of us remembered taking him there so we all assured him he was wrong. ;) he swore he was right though and even described the interior of the restaurant, which actually was correct, so then i thought that maybe he had taken the kids, but they still both swear they never went there with him. one day after the kids left for youth conference papa and i stopped in to take a picture in front of the map of mexico that he swore was there, and it was. and there you have it!
