this is the only iphone pic i took on friday. the rest are on my nice big camera, which i will download... tomorrow.
but a quick friday recap: dan, chantell, and crew came to the hotel. everyone went swimming. it was cosette's birthday, so we all went to pizza hut where mike and cami hosted a very fun pizza lunch. we all headed to nauvoo where we had a blast at the county fair and then watched the pageant. taa-daa, friday!
on saturday morning we all woke up early so we could leave at 7:30 to go see a performance at the trail of hope. however a series of unfortunate events occurred, and we didn't make it. but we (cami, grandpa, james, stephanie, dan, chantell, matt and i) did make it to the temple for an 11 o'clock session. lex, chris, and uncle mike (washed his recommend, doh!) held down the fort. after the temple we were all seriously hungry, so we picked up kiddos and went to a little diner near our hotel. that poor server girl was in way over her head and we waited a loooong time. to pass the time we played categories, where you come up with a category and each person names a thing in that category until no one can come up with anything else. hey, we were tired and hungry and it kept us happy and entertained.
it's all good.
addie showed off her tattoo. (which i hate, but whatever)
because the other picture wasn't detailed enough.
food! finally food!
from there we headed into nauvoo for some shopping. i got a magnet (of course!), addie got a charm bracelet, chris a tie clip, frankie a watch, and lexi couldn't find anything.
"mommy, take my picture!"
she was a good traveling baby! except for the few nights that she wouldn't sleep. she'd lay on me, lay on matt, fling herself on me, fling herself on matt. she was happy, she just would not sleep!
gorgeous!
i could seriously take pictures here all day!
and it is this cool inside too. seriously amazing.
since we'd already done the county fair we decided to watch sunset on the mississippi, a little variety show with all the older missionary couples and a group of younger performing missionaries that serve and stay in nauvoo just for the summer. we got there early and the band was playing a swing song. they invited people to dance on stage, so my sweetheart and i, along with a few of the older missionary couples went up and danced. next they played a latin song and matt took addie up to dance. it was seriously so precious. addie was totally into it, pointing her toes, moving gracefully, she's a very serious performer! they were the only two on the stage and people were oooohing and ahhhing. i took a bunch of pics on my other camera, it was so sweet. and then the rest of the night people stopped us and told us how good addie did and how cute they were together. loved it!
frankie, lexi, grandpa and glenn had ridden together and came to the show late, but when frankie got there she didn't waste any time dancing. on the wall, cause it's what we do.
we walked back over to the fair and enjoyed the last few minutes of it. then we grabbed some popcorn and settled into our 4th row seats for the final pageant performance of 2013. it was wonderful.
i'm so glad we got to see it twice, it was really, really good.
dan and chantell loved performing in it and plan to do it again.
maybe one of these years we'll be able to join them, who knows.
we met up with chantell after the show for autographs. ;)
fabulous, fabulous, fabulous!
not so fabulous was that before the show granpda was walking and hurt his knee. mike and glen took him to the er in fort madison and we found out that he probably had a torn meniscus. boo! stressful for him to decide where to go and what to do. despite all of that he still had a great attitude and we all still had a great time.
