a year sworn

today was a laundry, roomba experimenting, shoe purging kind of day. we watched pete and rosie for awhile and then grandpa (who i fear has been a little stir crazy) walked the girls up to the park this afternoon. matt met them up there and when they came home they had a dinner plan! my favorite kind of plan - one that involves me not cooking! today marks the one year anniversary of grandpa being sworn into the peace corps so we went out to oga's to celebrate!
since we had friends over, this frog skipped a nap, so as we waited for our food (forever, they were busy!) she fell asleep on daddy. she was tired, understandabley, since she wakes up early.every.single.day.
oga's was busy with lots of people there and lots of take out orders. we were there for probably 2 hours, and not by choice. we had to come up with some creative ways to keep girls quiet and happy, so we made wonton letters.
grandpa got chopsticks so of course addie did too. and she did really good!
monkey see, monkey do!
laney has learned one of my least favorite words of all time - "mine!" and she uses it with a vengeance. she saw addie working her chopsticks and it was "mine! mine! mine!" so, sweet addie let her try them and laney did good with them too! maybe the girls are part asian?
the food was delicious, as usual. and neighbor peter felt really bad about the long wait so he made us up some yummy dumplings (addie had 4!) and gave us a little discount.
"meh, forget the chopsticks. fingers are faster!"
 yummy!
we're so happy that grandpa has had such a wonderful year with the peace corps and loves africa so much!
chris was lifeguarding it all day. he's been working a lot, which is good and bad. he's tired, but he's gonna love his big paycheck, and right now he doesn't have anything else to do. his only days off this week were wednesday - because he had his dr's appt, and saturday because he wants to go to the henderson's paintball party. and miss lexi went to night #2 of cheer tryouts. go, senior cheerleader, go!
