alli leaves, baseball played, candy bars sold

alli left on sunday, july 7.
papa decided to come to the greyhound station to document.
and annoy. ;)
sistahs!
i'm super thankful for cheap greyhound tickets that have allowed alli to come see us. and lex and chris to go see her too. now if we could just get one a liiiittle bit closer we'd be so money!
that monday chris had another all-star game. this is the first summer he's been able to play on the all-star team because he's always been in dallas. he's had a lot of good opportunities this year since he was only gone for 10 days. i could totally get used to that!
unfortunately the st mary's all stars went down after the second game. they played both games against the same team, and the coach was doing this weird thing where he substituted runners and hitters and was always calling someone else in to play. papa says baseball is all about strategy and that was just his strategy. i say let's just let the boys play the game.
sour grapes?
 maybe.
but seriously, they're just kids and it should be instructional and fun. at least according to the mama ray rules of baseball. ;)
fundraisers are the bane of my existence.
along with coupon nazi cashiers and cellulite.
lexi had agreed to sell 2 boxes of candy bars to help pay for her cheer camp this summer. getting her to sell them has been a little bit of a battle.
this day she agreed to go sell around our neighborhood along with her little sidekick, cheerleader addie.
they were pretty successful, not that that enticed lexi to want to sell anymore.
addie worked up quite an appetite pawning the chocolate, so we let her "buy" a bar. she decided she loves caramel and explained the whole thing to frankie, who she gave exactly 1 square to.

since school is out, christian is able to work all day at our pool and he worked several days between all of our vacationing. this was an overcast day where the pool was pretty empty. chris fell in love and has been praying for rainy days so he can relax at work. that's my hard working boy!
more dominos!
the all star tournament ended early, but no problo, we've got club ball too!
club ball is a new summer program where the boys play for their high school team, they use the high school umpires, and it's supposed to give the high school coaches a preview of their players. i love the idea, but it's a new program and not very well organized. oh well, lessons learned.
love laney in these pics!
oh yeah, and lex and papa too. ;)
big girl!
lexi took her candy bars to sell at the game, but then she wimped out. no need to worry when you've got a papa around! he stood up and said "hello everyone, my grandaughter alexis is a leonardtown high school cheerleader and she is selling candy bars." lex was mortified, but immediately people pulled out their wallets and she sold 30 bars. pretty successful papa.

that's the balla!
when daddy arrived he got the girls icees. this pretty lil' loved it!

(christian won the naming contest when he was 9 - it's a play on a hannah montana characters name)
and to round out the baseball pictures, addie the silly.
love this weirdo!
