first day of school 2013

yesterday was the first day of school.

the last first day of high school for this one:

(that is so weird!)

the second first day of high school for this one:

the first day of kindergarten for this one:

and the first day of being the big sister in charge for this one:

it was a good day for all involved.

addie was so excited this morning, that when i went upstairs to get frankie, she and grandpa started on their way to the bus stop. i had to call out the window for them to wait for me. :) too exciting!

finally it was time to go to the bus stop... and she was off!

we have a mini bus stop 2 houses down. sup-ah convenient!

this was right about the time that i got choked up. 

that lasted for about a minute, and then i was done.

 and another one has had a first day of kindergarten. 

it's all good!

frog and i had a master plan to make cookies for the school goers. but first i had to wash the dishes from the night before, so as i washed frankie played, and i listened to dr. phil. the kitchen was finally clean and it was time to make cookies. only frankie wasn't ready yet. she needed to finish being on dr. phil.

hmmmm, maybe i'm watching too much???

finally her episode ended and it was time to cook! i especially love laney the diaper baby running around in the background!

this was probably the first time frankie has ever gotten to be the main kitchen helper. her attention span isn't that long, and addie's kinda overbearing, so, you know. and apparently i haven't baked enough lately, cause delaney was terrified of the kitchenaid. she wouldn't get down, cause then she wouldn't have full view of the chocolate chips, but she hated the mixer! she just stared at it and cried.

"oh, i hate it, i hate it!"

"why are you doing this to me?!"

"oh this is so unfair!"

(my dr. phil episode would probs be for an addiction to captioning pictures. ;)

we mixed and baked and enjoyed some dough.

 

 delaney warmed up to the mixer a little bit after she got some chocolate chippies in her.

somewhere during the day a budding photog borrowed my phone...

so lexi came home first, around 3. she gets out at 11:30 this year. she's got ap english and pre-cal, which she can get college credit for, and then she works, so she's able to get out early. then chris got home just after 3. we were all excited to see how addie's first day went, so we all went and waited for her at the bus stop. sweet arden sat by her and she got off the bus looking timid but feeling happy!

she had a great first day! i didn't get a lot of details, but she had fun and was excited to go back, so that's good!

everyone enjoys a full cookie jar. :)

the lifeguard has been working so much that we had to plan ahead for some school shoe shopping. grandpa needed shoes too, so we were all gonna go together, but unfortunately his knee started feeling bad and he ended up staying home. we had a nice shopping trip and everyone got to bed early to be ready to do it all again on thursday!!!
