daddy is everybody's favorite around here.
today was a stressful day. which is a bummer cause church was fantastic.
alexis came into our room at 1am because she had thrown up again and wanted medicine. she said she had to shake me awake, and man, that woke us up with a start! she's been throwing up off and on since thursday night, so i'm not sure what's going on. she's eaten chicken noodle soup and a banana today, so hopefully we're on the up and up!
because of our middle of the night wake up call, we both slept late and got to church late. matt's got several cold sores that are only made worse by his braces, so he was in pain all day + not a lot of sleep = :(. our summer has been so fun, but having fun can sometimes be a lot of work and our house is showing the wear of neglect. and school is starting, which is wonderful but can be stressful. and grandpa is getting ready for his knee surgery. and matt is getting ready for his 2 week annual training. and, and, and.
we watched saints and soldiers and ate popcorn, then leftovers for dinner. lex and chris went to the back to school byd and the girls got to bed early.
addie has been a bit of a challenge lately. she's into asking for something, and then if one parent says no (usually me), she goes to the other parent (usually matt), and then if that fails she goes to grandpa. she's also been telling me that i am not in charge, (as in "you are not the boss, mommy") but grandpa is. then she'll also put her two cents in during discipline time for alexis and christian (as in "mommy, don't be mean to sissy"). i am trying to find the best way to deal with this. so far i've tried gentle correction, ignoring, and time out. the jury's still out on which works best. and then there's the always fun, "mommy is mean," and "i want a new daddy." not surprisingly she has never asked for a new grandpa... hmmmm... i know she's just examining her new big girl world and what role she (and her mouth!) plays in it. she's a really easy going and sweet girl... 85% of the time. :)
ah well, some days are better than others. and tomorrow is another day. opposition in all things, right?!
it's all good!
