Perfect weather

The last few days have been so lovely. I loooove open window weather. And tonight, we saw our first fireflies!!! I love first fireflies day!!! One of the best things about summer. (There are lots of best things)

We got up early today and I made cookies for jackies birthday. I love my primary class. they are turning 12 this year and they are all so excited to graduate from primary and be in the youth program. they are so cute. For their birthdays I let them request a special treat, and Jackies was cookies from a mix, so easy squeezie.

There were some good, thought provoking, and heartfelt talks in sacrament meetin, and a fun lesson in primary class. I love music time in primary and Joni always does such a good job with sharing time. Altogether a good day at church.

After, it was home for lunch and then family naps. We had so much fun yesterday that we got the girls to bed late (after 9) and it showed today. First, Laneys nursery leader told me that, though they talked about obedience during their lesson, laney was not obedient. Every once in awhile she gets obstinate and laughs as she's willfully disobedient. It's a terrible habit and I don't know where it came from. Anyways, she was doing that and they found it so out of character for her that they let me know.

Then Addie's teacher said that during their lesson on obedience addie was struggling as well, and the weirdest, most disagreeable part of that was that she also decided to eat her Chapstick. After church was fun. :/

So, family naptime. Even Christian got in on it. And it was glorious too. We didn't wake up till 4:30 when Frankie decided to knock on our shared wall. We all woke up refreshed and ready for our evening.

And addie just finished her third chapter book by herself. Big girl.
Matt and addie ran to church for some clerk business and I took the little girls for a walk to pick up some boots and clothes that neighbors have given us. What a wonderful community we have!

We came up on the Utzinger/Martines parade just as they were leaving, so we decided to join on in. We walked together for awhile until Matt and addie joined back up with us. Then we invited ourselves back to their house for an evening of talking on their deck, enjoying the wildlife, and letting our children run amuck inside, including, but not limited to laney having an accident, because I forgot she was in underwear, because we were only going to be gone for 30 minutes. We are awesome house guests.

The Utzingers just found out they are moving soon, and we will miss them so much. They've been awesome neighbors, friends, and a blended family that we have looked up to and asked advice from many a time. It feels odd to live in a place for so long that longtime friends start to move away.

We rolled in at 11, which makes last nights late night seem early. I'm scared of what the girls will come up with tomorrow!
