Is it summer yet?

Because it sure feels like it. High 80's and humid, it is uncomfortably hot and sticky outside!

Today was filled with friends (ainas and Laura), coupons, lighthouse planning, fridge cleaning, and nice visits.

We are all ready for school to be over. The girls get off the bus hot and disheveled each day. I tried to get a picture, but only one cooperated.
Addie and I finally played her M&M game from Mother's Day. We took turns picking M&M's and asking each other questions based on the colors. She was so thoughtful about her answers! I am blessed with really thoughtful kids, I am so grateful for that. the majority of the questions we got were "if you could go anywhere with me, where would you go?" Her answers were Hershey Park, Laura Ingalls Wilder's homes, and Clovis, NM, where she was born, and where the little Mormon girl in our latest story was pioneering too. We had a nice time. (:

This one came home happy because he got offered a job! He got a job at a little seafood joint called Crabknockers. Though he's gonna suggest that they change it to Crab Shack. I think that will go over well. (;
There was an hoa meeting tonight. We have a new board and I'm praying the drama and pettiness will stop. It's such a wonderful neighborhood, we just need to be respectful or eachother.

Matt just got off the antibiotics he was taking for his foot injury last week, and they did a number on him. Also his throat was hurting today, and strep throat is going around, which terrifies me (I don't want a repeat of last year) Hoping he feels better tomorrow!

Alexis is learning to work with her new nanny family. She's got lots of "responsibilities," which isn't a bad thing, as long as she's not being taken advantage of. As with everything else in life, it's a fine balance.

Chris is (like the rest of us) so ready for school to be over. He turned in his track uniform on saturday, and while he'll miss it, he's happy to have some extra time  and he's excited to make money to save for a jeep. :/

Addie is still practicing piano and still working hard at school. During her fluency practice she is reading 170+ words per minute. She's grown by leaps and bounds this year and I know it's in large part due to her amazing teacher! She still loves school, loves her teacher, and loves art. She's been a little pesty with her little sisters lately, but she's mostly a little sweety girl.

Frankie went on a trip today. She came downstairs (several times) pulling our library little suitcase and informed me that she was going on a trip to Florida for 16 hundred and 86 days. She did say I could come visit though. She was on "blue" today at school, which means she behaved really well and got to pick a prize. She picked sticker earrings and very sweetly shared them with her sisters.

Delaney continues to struggle with eating. Right or wrong, i'd had enough this morning, and after giving her several options, and her choosing eggs and toast, only to not touch the eggs, I sent her to her bed until she decided to eat them. She's got to eat something! She is a super stubborn eater. :/ or non eater, I should say. Thank goodness she's so sweet in most other areas! She even cleaned addie and Frankies room today! Keep in mind that it was to earn tv time, but still. It was super sweet!

Tonight we're having a lightning storm and it's just beautiful! Definitely one of my favorite summer occurrences! I even made Alexis and Christian go for a walk with me to enjoy the show.
