Food truck

Bubba, jeanne, and Pablo came over on Wednesday to take the girls shooting. I’m not opposed to guns per say, I think it’s good to be knowledgeable and not afraid of them. I just think there are way too many guns out there. Anywho, they made it out to the range only to find out the girls would have needed a hunting license to be able to shoot. Whomp whomp.

They hung out for awhile, and then that evening the girls and I went to the nursery for a few fun plants for us and one for Lori. Then girls had YW and I had a ministering interview with McKenzie and Susanna. Frankie’s class left sunshine’s with sweet messages for Lori and she loved it.

The sweet little plant Frankie picked out looks great outside her door!

Ad’s crew wore pj’s and played games. Adi brought Oreos and milk and had a fun time.

Back in October I helped organize and deliver food from our Day to Serve. I met some really great people, one of them from Helping Hands Food Pantry. For some reason we didn’t have all the food they’d ordered, and Bro. Johnson had said we could offer anyone a surplus food truck, so I did. Long story long, 8 months later and Thursday lwas the big day!

We met up with Henderson’s and Frazier’s, and 6 volunteers from Helping Hands at 8:00 Thursday morning.

We set up a human chain and got right to work.

It took us a few pallets to get our groove, but once we figured it out, we were golden.

We unloaded 12 pallets of food - around 70 boxes on each pallet - in an hour and a half.

Delaney, Mark, and one of their volunteers worked in the truck. Adi and Nola took the boxes from the truck and passed them to Ben and Caleb. They passed them on another HH’s volunteer, who passed to Frankie, then me, then Amy and various other HH’s volunteers.

There were some heavy boxes, especially for our kiddos.

We grabbed a group picture before a few of their volunteers left. We had Demetri our truck driver take it for us. 🤗

We filled that place up good! They will be able to use their limited resources for other food staples for a long time.

The church donates these trucks all over the country every single week. It’s pretty amazing all the wonderful things quietly happening.

I had a meeting with Pres. Boyd and then a Stake RS Coordinating Council meeting that night. Both were excellent.

Delaney’s Tinker Crate came that afternoon - always a fun day!

While i was in meetings in my room (technology is such a blessing) the girls spent some time on the deck taking pictures and making movies.
