Adventure Park

On Tuesday Bubba and Jeanne wanted to hang out, so we decided on an adventure day. After lots of searching we decided on The Adventure Park.

It’s past the beltway, which is such a bummer because it’s so fun.

I totally would have climbed too, but 5 tickets were $$$ so I decided to cheer everyone on and take pictures and I had a really great day.

Everyone was so brave and had such a good time.

They all took turns going with each other. Sometimes A&F, sometimes A&D, and on and on.

I took a million pictures and fun videos.

I really love an adventure park. I love the confidence it brings to conquer something that’s really scary, and the sense of physical achievement.

Adi decided about 2 hours in that she wanted to just do the easier routes and have fun, and I can totally respect that.

Delaney pushed it with some difficult courses and bailed on 2 by climbing down the ladders, which I can respect also.

They’ve got tons of courses of all different levels. It’s a really cool place.

Next time we go we need to remember to wear red of something bright. Everyone but Frankie wore muted tones that blended with the trees. D was even in camouflage. 😂

Adi and I had come here with Daisy Scouts many years ago and I loved it then too.

Christian and Jeanne were so sweet with the girls. They stayed with at least one girl the whole time.

Adi took a break after a particularly challenging and high crossing. .

Just a big brother cheering on his baby sister when she was scared. 😍

Delaney’s favorite course was a green one called Fern Gully. She liked that “it was extreme but not nerve wracking.”

Frankie’s fav were the zip lines and the challenges that were high, but not super challenging.

Delaney said “I’m Mona Lisa!”

And Adi’s fav were  the zip lines.

Adi and Frankie need gloves for girls camp anyway, so I bought them cool fingerless gloves. 😂

I loved cheering them on. It really was just as fun as if I’d climbed with the crew.

And the weather was all the chefs kisses. It’s been soooo mild! A bummer to not be swimming, but so wonderful to be outside and absolutely pleasant!

❤️❤️❤️

We had 3 1/2 hours to climb and used every minute.

No complaints, nobody too tired, just fun and pushing limits and stretching abilities.

This was the last course Christian, jeanne, and Frankie did.

It was a blue course that they regretted about halfway through. 💀

It was cool because Delaney’s course was right next to them, and then Adi’s came along after a few minutes.

So I just hung out in the one area and got to watch everybody.

Kids that love each other and work together are the best!

The blue course C, J, and F were on got real difficult, but they pushed through to the end.

And that’s when the real fun began.

They had to be at least 50 feet up, and the challenge was to attach yourself to a pulley and just jump.

Frankie got there first and just cried. She didn’t know what to do, there were no instructions, and the free fall seemed sketchy as heck!

Bubba told her it was ok and that he’d go first. He finally made it over and the 3 of them stood on that platform questioning all their life choices. 😂 they asked that I make sure they were supposed to jump, so a nice worker came over to assure them.

After much cheering and encouraging, Christian pushed himself off from a sitting position. Frankie climbed over and hung by her hands and finally let herself drop. Then jeanne was the lone woman on the platform. She opted to sit and jump too. She was pretty shaken up, bless her heart! Christian and Frankie pretty quickly said they’d do it again, but jeanne said she’d need some time.

We grabbed Chicfila on the way home and made it home around 7:30. It was such a fun day, I’m sure it will be a summer highlight.
