The Seagrove's Visit

When Matt and Christian were at Boy Scout Camp my brother Joe and his family came to Washington DC for a conference. The girls and I were able to go spend an evening with them.
We planned on going to the aquarium but it was closed.

So after paying for parking (a full days price for 20 minutes of parking) we left and drove over to the Jefferson Memorial. We had never been there and Sara and Taylor thought it sounded good, so off we went. We found free parking and walked around the memorial.
It was h-o-t!

Taylor and Alexis, the 2 oldest cousins.
Tay will be 16 in August.

So pretty!

They went down to check out the water and then they came right back up.

After the Jefferson Memorial we made the unfortunate decision to walk to the Lincoln Memorial.
After walking forever we could see the Lincoln Memorial and were so close we felt like we just had to keep going. But then we walked forever again. Frankie and Addie cried in the stroller so we carried them. My girls and I are a lot of fun to sightsee with!!!

I've figured out that everything in DC looks like it wouldn't be that far to walk, but it really is that far. Anyways, at the Lincoln Memorial we saw a police officer on a horse and Taylor took Addie over to pet him.

So sweet.

We were all starving, so after Joe finished his conference we picked him up and set out on our long journey to find a place to eat. We had looked at some restaurants with the GPS and so we parked and tried walking to our chosen restaurant. But we never found it. So we tried another one that but came to find out it had closed down. Then we tried another that had no tables available, another that looked sketchy at best, another that was closed, and finally found a Hard Rock Cafe.
We were so tired and hungry and hot!

Joe, Taylor, and Alexis.

Addie and Sara.

Addie is very anti-picture lately.

I took them to the airport a few days after this. We went to lunch where Joe carried Addie to and from the restaurant, and then we dropped them off. It was past naptime for Addie and she was super grumpy. As soon as they left Addie started crying "Joe-Joe!!! Joe-Joe!!!" Then she continued crying like that for 10 minutes before she finally fell asleep.
What a weirdo.

Hopefully they'll come back soon with Joseph Jr. for a longer stay!
We'll even go sightsee with you I guess!
How's that for an incentive?!
