Charlottesville tour - thanksgiving 2017

***It’s all coming back to me. My pictures wigged out and for some reason I don’t have these pictures on my phone anymore. So this is all I wrote and no pictures to share.***

Last hiking pic. Chantell and I were getting a pic and Addie just had to be included. Love these girls!

Matt can now add Virginia to the list of states he’s fried a turkey in - WA, NM, CA, CO, MD, and now VA. That’s more than 10%.

I love sharing in the cooking duties. We each did half and it wasn’t too shabby. We really love having family close by!

Lexi has always loved the drumsticks.

And we always get a shot of her plowing through that drumstick. I’m surprised she still lets me!

Little sister see, little sister do.

Delaney silliness.

Delaney/Chantell silliness.

That night we all pushed through the pain to stay up late and play games and it was a blast. Lexi and cade are a cute married couple that play taboo really well, they can say 2 words and the other one knows the answer exactly. We also played Heads Up which is always so fun.

D had trouble sleeping the second night there, so when we went to bed (in dan and Chantell’s comfy bed, cause they are food hosts) we found her with Angel tucked in safely next to her. She’s so precious.

Friday morning just the 4 older adults went for a walking tour of downtown Charlottesville. This is the infamous statue of General Lee that caused the deadly protests just a few months ago. It was weird being there.

Their downtown is amazing! They have the coolest walking mall ever! Several fun theaters, ice skating rink, tons of restaurants and cool shops, lots of art and museums. It’s a small town vibe but with lots to do and lots of old money. Such a fun place to live!

We went back to the house and ate pie for breakfast and played some more games.

Lexi really wanted to get home Friday so she had time at home and enough days to see all the people she wanted. So we loaded up and headed out after lunch.

That night was the tree lightning that we have gone to every year, but it was also Ashbys baptism, and friends are more important. L&C wanted to still go to the tree lighting, so they took Frankie and we took Ads and D. I think she’s waving at Santa here. She’s a very serious, grown up waver.

We stopped by Target for a gift before the baptism, and Addie requested this picture of her being the silhouette girl.

It appears we got donuts one day.

And look, another hike picture! This one is from Lexi, and it’s so cute with new Bubba and the littlest sister.

Before they came home, the Finlayson’s hosted Friendsgiving, wherein chicken nuggets were served in lieu of turkey. Because.

And their cute little apartment. They’ve since sold their crate furniture pieces (for a profit) and redone their family room. To be young!
