Day #209

Day #3 was another day of lovely weather

I found these beauties on my phone. ๐Ÿ˜‚

We made pancakes and bacon for brekkie and with all of us working together managed to get out much earlier this day than the day before.

We made it to Skyline Drive just before 11.

And our jump pictures need some work.

But I’ve seen worse.

We did some souvie shopping... everyday. And all the girls really loved this sexy statue. They felt him up and called him their boyfriend. ๐Ÿคท‍♀️

We took a short hike up to one of the highest points in Shenandoah. On the hike we encountered some haunted hikers. Matt was just extra enough to ask for a picture.

We hiked and climbed and hiked some more.

Taaa daaaa!

It was beautiful and nerve wracking up top.

Kids around ledges make me nervous. They are so clumsy and heights already scare me. My palms were pretty much sweaty the whole time.

It was windy up top!

๐Ÿ˜

These two found a little seat and ate a snack.

At the top!

All those girls!

Addie was doing our patented keep your eyes closed until right before you take the picture move.

Our March girls.
Aina’s brought lunch stuff and we ate a chilly lunch in the Byrd Visitor Center parking lot. We wanted to make sure to get back to the campground in time to explore and hike around. It was a really nice campground, clean and lots to do.

We hiked down to the river, saw the cabins, ponds, and then part of the crew checked out the camp store while Matt and I headed back to camp to prep dinner.

We did foil dinners, and each girl got to make their own.

They loved their creations!

Everyone but Isla ate the whole thing.

We loved our foil dinners from camping in July too.

It was also nice to not be eating at 8pm.

Ainas made Chinese donuts and I think we also had s’mores. We had salad with dinner, and everyone knows you can have 2 desserts when you eat salad first.

We listened to and discussed another conference talk around the fire, then the adults stayed up talking till after midnight. It wasn’t too cold, we had a nice fire, and the girls were worn out from 2 full days of hiking. We’re so lucky to have fun friends to camp and raise kids with.

When we finally went to our tents I found Delaney had climbed onto our air mattress and fallen asleep. Nice try, precious girl. ๐Ÿ˜‚
