Day #199-#201

On Wednesday we caught up on some school. I did a few ministering interviews and unpacked and cleaned. The girls have been loving playing at the school park for outdoor/pe time. The Ainas came that day, and they ended up back at their house for a spa day.

By Thursday the glow of our getaway abruptly ended when we found a second spot Tenkor peed in right in the front room. That was stressful and disappointing and anxiety inducing for all of us. We love Tenkor and also can’t have dog pee all over the house. We want Alli to feel welcome and also need to make sure things are kept clean. We decided to see it as a challenge to be overcome together and find joy in figuring it out. We watched some more dog training videos together and got started right away on their suggestions. Alli made an appt to take T to the vet and we all worked to clean the stain(s).

Frankie spent the night with papa. They were going to have an adventure day on Thursday, but decided to stay closer to home and have an adventure here.

I never got to live near my grandparents, so I’m super happy the girls get to. It’s a mutually beneficial relationship for all of us and we’re so glad to have papa nearby.

They went out to breakfast and I’m told that Frankie ate a huge plate of pancakes and that papa doubted she’d be able to finish, but she did.

They walked around downtown.

She’s such a fun, easy going gal.

Frankie spotted this... bird and they pulled over and snapped some pictures of her.

Also, this cute grandson is halfway cooked! Hopefully I’ll be able to go out there sometime in February to meet baby boy and help with Emmi.

I can’t remember what we did on Friday, but that afternoon the girls hopped on their bikes and Matt and I walked over to the not-so-wooden park. On our way we did our civic duty.

Before we did, we divided up the candidates and measures on the ballot. We each researched one and then reported back to the other on our findings. The only thing worse than not voting is voting without doing any work to understand, which I have done plenty of times, but am always improving.

We went to the park to celebrate Mike Martines birthday. Colleen ordered pizza and had cake and it was so nice to visit with friends while the kids played. We stayed till it started to get dark since we were walking home. It was a beautiful evening and we loved celebrating one of our favorite guys.

And finally, one of my new favorite pictures of Emmi-Bob. 😍😍😍
