shower, crabs, and storms

on saturday morning we puttered around the house. chris' schedule (at the crabknockers) has been saturdays 9:30-8:30, so he left early. i got the girls sunscreened up and got the backyard pool ready for them while matt worked at some shelf building in the shed. laura picked me up at 12 for christina's baby shower.

i let joni borrow my shower decorations and brought rolls, so we got there early to help out.

there was a nice turnout to celebrate baby girl watson. :)

they had a photo booth set up, so we grabbed all the pax ladies, past and present, and took some pics.

my favorites are always the silly shots! but first she cut off joni and alecia's heads, so we had to take a few more.

i think her comment was, "you guys aren't very silly..."

i think those are some crazy and silly ladies!

after we cleaned up, laura and i stopped by target... just to return some teacher bags i didn't end up using. ha! a full cart and an hour and a half later, we were finally done.

months ago we put the crab festival on our calendars. and saturday was the day! so, even though it was 6, (and i really should have come home) we checked it out. it was such a hot day that everyone was packing up by the time we got there. there were $10 crab cakes and also some crab to pick, but i was starving and needed to get home, so laura got 6 to go.
we looked all around for a shot of our first ever (bombed) crab festival, and this is what we came up with. the cool old-man band behind us. ;)
sunday was spencers first day back from the mission! chris and brian were so excited. spencer has been such a good example to chris, i am so grateful for him.

after church, daddy stayed for a meeting and choir, chris went to take the sacrament to the mesmer's, and these 3 and i came home. i can't remember what delaney was in the process of saying, but i think it was along the lines of "i can't say cheese, i'm eating!"
see?
we watched the end of meet the mormons and took naps. sundays have been soooo sweet lately. bro. darrow came by and gave our family a missionary challenge. then the elders came by for a nice fathers day discussion, their 20th of the week! as we visited the storm clouds accumulated. i love me a good storm!
addie brought this home with all her end of year work. i thought it was such a perfect rendition of mlk jr! then laura asked why addie had drawn hitler, and then when chris got home a few hours later he said the same thing. i still think it's much more mlk than hitler, but whatevs.
