we got up early this morning to pack and clean our cute scooby shack.
matt and i watched the sunrise from our balcony as we folded clean towels.
the kids helped out and we were able to get things done pretty quickly.
i loved our house! i can just imagine the owner shopping over the years and picking up cute little beachy trinkets to add to the beach house feel.
and all the beach lovers that have enjoyed the house over the years. there were 2 guest books on the coffee table and it was fun to read about the fun weeks that families had spent there, including the one that was there last summer for the earthquake and hurricane irene. bummer!
we had a goal to be on the road by 9 to try and miss the home again traffic.
i think anything within an hour of goal departure is pretty good.
and the ride was really good.
no drama, no traffic, and not a lot of tears.
car shots:
christian knitting.
alexis singing.
addie playing.
laney (finally) sleeping.
and frankie. also finally sleeping.
we all took the worlds shortest naps and then there were some tears.
but then we filled up for $3.04! yay, love the gas prices before crossing into maryland!
and it took us exactly 5 1/2 hours to get home, yay!
and then the unpacking begins.
boo. :(
90 degrees and our house was hot.
so we unpacked the car and put everything in the entryway and front room.
that's 1/4 of the battle, right?
unpacking is the worst, but i guess when vacation is the best it's a small price to pay.
now i'm giving myself the rest of the day off, it is sunday after all. tomorrow it's back to reality for me.
