we picked alexis and robin up from school in our girls road trip'ified ride.
the "honk 4 the Birthday Girl" sign was a hit. we got lots of fun honks and waves. :)
aaand we had fun driving into the high school parking area just as everyone was leaving. windows rolled down, music blasting (as blasting as i'll allow with a 4-month-old in tow, which is no higher than 20, fyi), and deuces up. i can't imagine why she was embarrassed.
and check out the giant lion her friend that's a boy gave her. holy huge.
finally ready to go!
the weather had been hot and muggy all day, but wouldn't you know as soon as we got in the car we started hearing about severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings all along our drive. we outran the storm for awhile, but it caught up with us about the time laney's patience for her carseat wore thin. so we did what all self-respecting girls do when life throws you lemons on your girls trips.
we found a mall.
whilst shopping, we scoured the store for the ugliest ensembles we could come up with.
we did pretty good, right?
after a few hours of retail therapy, we finally got back on the road. it was still pouring, laney was still grumpy, but it was also still fun.
and d finally went to sleep riiiight as we pulled in to ocean city. :)
