on monday morning alexis and i woke up bright and early and went over to kelly's house so alexis could ride to camp with her. she is a 5th year now, a youth camp leader, and she was so excited to go! not really, she has actually been throwing a fit about going for about 2 months now. there were a lot of "i'm not going!"'s and "i'll break my arm so i can come home if you make me go!"'s. it's not that i think camp is so important, although i do think it's fun, it's just that if i don't make her do things, i don't think she would do anything. and usually the things i make her do turn out pretty good.
fingers crossed and prayers said that i get to pick up a happy 16-year-old on saturday!
then yesterday morning christian and i woke up bright and early to meet up for his high adventure bike trip. he didn't fight with me at all about going, which tells me that he was really excited, even though he didn't actually act excited. they are biking the c & o canal, going 180 miles over 5 days, and camping along the way. there were 11 going, 8 boys and 3 lucky adults. :) i'm so grateful for people that give their time and talents to help my children.
after we dropped christian off, we headed straight to the dr for a 4 month and 4 year check up.
since i didn't have any of my big kid helpers, i didn't get any pictures of laney-lanes! oops.
she looks great, she weighs 14.4 lbs (50th percentile), is 26 inches long (95th percentile!), and her head is 16 inches (50th percentile). and she has an inverted nipple, but hopefully that will fix itself. :)
addie weighs 36 lbs (50th percentile), 40 inches tall (50th percentile), and has a bmi of 60%. then she got to do all sorts of fun tests.
hearing test.
this is how she timidly pointed to the ear she heard the beep from.
sweet girl.
then the vision test. first cj (he's the best nurse ever, seriously!) went over each picture with her to make sure she knew what each picture was. when he asked what the coffee mug was, she shouted "tea!" can ya tell her parents don't drink coffee?!
she did great and has 20/30 vision.
she did so good with all the tests.
then while we waited for the dr we ate fruitsnacks.
addie said "oh no, i have a fruitsnack on my face!"
i love my goofy girl!
the dr checked her out and she looks great.
then it was shot time. cj told her they were gonna play a game and if she beat him that she would get a prize. he asked her a question and she had to answer really fast. so as he was giving her her shots, he asked her "what's your favorite color? answer, hurry, fast!" she made a shocked face and then said "pink!" and no tears! then for the second shot he did the same thing and asked her her sisters names. that one got teary eyes, but no crying! it was awesome, seriously love that guy! i am a believer in good service and i am always appreciative when i get it. i'm even gonna write dr. miller's group a letter about how much we like him and that he deserves a raise. :)
laney wasn't so easily distracted for her (3!) shots, but she's pretty easily comforted.
so thankful for healthy ladies.
