i loooove lighthouses! luckily, so does laura, so on wednesday we planned to drive south for some lighthousing.
not luckily, we picked the hottest day evah to go.

we got to the lighthouse at 12, only to discover that it's closed for repairs.
5 years of repairs.
no bodie island lighthouse climbing for us.
undaunted, we explored all that bodie island lighthouse had to offer.
besides walking up, of course.
whilst meandering, we came across a lovely park ranger that we asked to take a group picture for us.
i loooove asking people to take pictures for me. you just never know what you're gonna get! like that time in dc that the woman actually took a picture of herself. so funny! it makes me think of all the times that i have been asked to take a tourist shot for someone and proudly proclaimed "yes, that's the one. that's going to be really nice!" i'm sure my mad photography skills have given people quite a laugh as well.
anywho, without further ado, if you give a park ranger an iphone...
at least the lighthouse looks good in all of them.
