on thursday we had a big family cleaning hour in the morning. many hands make light work and we were able to get the scooby shack all spic and span.
after lunch david took the big kids mini-golfing, matt stayed with the little girls while they napped (he had to study for his class), and laura, alexis, laney, and i went north to currituck lighthouse.

alexis didn't care to climb, so she stayed down with laney while laura and i braved the 221 steps. it was so hot and i'm nervous with the height anyway. sweat palms and weak knees!

even though i'm terrified of heights, i would still totally be a lighthouse keepers wife.
gonna start looking for open positions.
on our drive back home we were going to stop at some of the cute shops but the only cute shop we actually stopped at was... dollar tree. laney had fallen asleep and we just didn't stop. so there. we thought the dollar tree might have some fun beach toys but... they didn't. oh well.
another cute lighthouse checked off the list. :)
