Day #231

The one with all the meetings.

Sunday was our first day of our new meeting schedule and we had a lot of meetings. First up - ward council at our new time - 7:45. It’s not that early and it’s still virtual, but still. Each week we read a chapter of the handbook and talk about it and I love it. The new consolidated hb is great and because there’s only one now there are lots of things I’ve never read, like Sundays chapter about interviews. I learned a lot and am so grateful foe the opportunities to participate in interviews and counsel with so many wonderful people.

Next up, adult and youth Sunday school ar 9. We’re doing hour long classes now instead of the 25 minutes we were doing. Next, sacrament meeting. We took the sacrament at home at 11, then they broadcast fast and testimony meeting starting at 11:20. Delaney rolled around on the floor and accidentally pulled the charging cord out of the computer 4 times, so that was fun. Next we had an actual in person meeting at 2, and the girls screed slightly ferrell and like they’ve never talked to or met another human. They talk so much and I never know when to cut them off. Because it’s important to let them talk and also not to ramble. 🤣 We got home and Alli had made us dinner in a pumpkin, which was ready 15 minutes after we arrived and made me feel so pampered. And it was delicious, and not just fast Sunday delicious, it was really good!

Next we had tithing settlement at 5. It’s bananas that we’re already to the point in 2020 that it’s time for tithing settlement, but here we are. Bishop Darrow always talks to the kids and makes it a fun and learning experience for them, so it was less ferrel childreny. Lastly, I met virtually with Richard and Jackie and we had a great discussion about the temple. ‘Twas a good day of lots of meetings, and I’m grateful to be able to stay connected and learn together.

They are having a stake yw activity and asked for pictures or video of each young woman. I really wanted Addie to play a song on the piano, she’s learning hymns now and they’re so beautiful, but she didn’t want to. Sarah suggested a picture with her books, and she was sold. She arranged everything and happily posed. And it was due Saturday, so hopefully they take late submissions. 🤷‍♀️🤣
Also this, plus an election. I listened to a podcast that talked about how many people have bought guns recently and most people are expecting violence no matter which way things turn out. I’m grateful to be fairly isolated down on our little peninsula, but also don’t want anyone to experience violence. Praying die a return to unity and order in our country.
