Shopping, love, and blue crabs

Saturday was another busy day. I picked Laura up at 9:45 and we went for our bi-annual pedicures. I take her for her birthday in May, she takes me for mine in July. It works well for us. (:

we got there right when they opened at 10, and it was already full! What the heck? We had vacation meal planning to do, and shopping lists to make, so it was fine, but it took much longer than we thought it would.

Then it was off to Joanns for fabric for frey's wedding quilt. (Shhhh! I sent an amazing lighthouse print!)

Then finally to the commissary. We didn't really need that much, but perusing, and talking, and checking prices, and couponing, and it all just takes awhile.

We got home at 4, and by the time we unloaded, I had just enough time to throw some dresses on the girls, freshen ma'self up, and off to Darren Reed's wedding reception. Little bug fell asleep in the car. That's what happens when daddy takes care of her and mommy forgets to tell him to give her a nap. Even though we've had a little one that's needed a nap every day since June 3, 2008. But whatever.
Darren's bride was from Seattle, so sure shooting, we know some of the same people. The gospel is such a small world. They had delicious wedding appies, crab dip, crab cakes, finger desserts, and a fun candy bar. #itsallaboutthefood

After we visited and ate, it was run again!
We did stop and take a few pictures. I LOVE lanes of trees. Give me a lane of trees, leading to a lighthouse, with a lavender farm nearby, heaven.
I'm so glad we stopped to take some pics, because just as we were getting into the car, my old vt companion, Gina forsgren arrived and yelled, "wait!" She and I were pregnant together when I was pregnant with Frankie. I loved being her companion and was so sad when she moved. We got into some fun situations too! Never a dull moment when you're on the Lord's errand.

From the reception, we headed to the blue crabs game that the girls got tickets to for participating in the library program. Ellie was sick, so we picked their tickets up too and didn't have to pay for anyone. Yay for free games, boo for sick kids!

We met up with Myers at the game and had a good ol' time. And for the first time in the many years we've been going to their games, we met the tie-dye guy!
So exciting to meet such a local celebrity! We admired his hat and his melon shorts, and then he was off.
Da' baseball crew.
The dads took the kids to visit the library kitty (didn't even know there was one) and Pinch the Blue Crab. Good daddy's. (:
They have fireworks every Friday and Saturday game, after the 7th inning, so we enjoyed the show, and then took our tired crew home.
We love us some fireworks!
But oh, those summer nights!
