Virginia

After all the December busyness, after Seussical was over, after the Finlayson’s went home, we headed to Virginia.

It was nice just to be together without anything to do.

We stopped for lunch at McDonalds and they were serving McRibs! I know they are gross and not really meat, but they are so tasty and I couldn’t pass it up. Also, I’m over eating at McDonalds and want to start eating at normal restaurants when we travel. The problem is we’re often in a hurry. there’s gotta be a better way.

We went to Dan and Chantell’s house and dropped our things, and then headed to watch the Nutcracker.

Evan was amazing and it was so fun to see him dance and to know one of the stars of the show.

We all drove together, and Evan had star of the show things to do after, so we explored around the school. The girls rolled down the hill, as they do.

We found a school junk yard and took pictures, as we do.

It was pretty and cold and calm and relaxing.

Finally the star was done and we were able to give hugs and take pictures with him.

That night we got pizza and cheesecake  and watched movies. Chantell was in Oregon helping a friend, and she was missed.

It’s so, so fun living close to family and the girls love their big cousins so much. And I love a silly shot.

We went to church with them and enjoyed their linger longer after. It’s always interesting to see the way other wards do things, and I have already taken some of those ideas back to our ward. We left that afternoon and had an uneventful drive home, and it was another wonderful weekend trip. 💕
