Philadelphia

I missed yesterday, but a quick check in this morning. We planned an impromptu temple trip with the Darrow’s for this weekend. It was early release, so we had the car packed and when Matt got home from work at 2:30, we jumped in and took off. These girls all napped, which is not common for them.

We hit traffic in Annapolis and crossing the Bay Bridge, but we got this beautiful sunset out of it, so pretty much worth it.

Our favorite baby boy continues to feel better slowly. Lu sent a video and he’s definitely still dazed. I want to hold him and snuggle him and help him feel better!

After hour 3 we broke out the electronics for 30 minutes.

Doritos and electronics? Road trip.

We got to the D’s hotel and got everyone into their swimsuits. Matt and I watched all the kids while Alecia and Josh headed for the temple.

The pool was super crowded and echoey and chloriney, but the kids had so much fun, and no one grumbled when, after 2 hours we gave them a 5 minute warning. And that was only because a large group of rowdy boys came and started doing flips into the pool and this momma could not hang.

The big girls had left early, so they had already showered and settled down to a America’s Most Talented Family. We got everyone showered, let everyone choose a free chupa chup flavor, popped popcorn, and settled in for a movie.

It was an easy and enjoyable night’o’babysitting with this cute crew, and, not pictured, my main squeeze. We had some minor drama at our first hotel, but the Rays stuck together under the pressure and the hotel went ahead and cancelled the cc charge before we’d gotten out of their grody parking lot. we found a much nicer hotel very close by, so all’s well.🤗
