Virginia

Grandpa Ray and his friend Bonnie came to visit us at the end of April to see Frankie get blessed. The weekend before her blessing we all loaded into the truck and drove down to Williamsburg, VA to see America's Historic Triangle - Jamestown, Williamsburg, and Yorktown.

On our way we stopped at a cute diner just across the Virginia border, which incidentally is way closer to us than I realized.

This was our first night in a hotel since October when we went up to Sleepy Hollow. Addie didn't sleep great that night either but we thought it was because she didn't have a crib to sleep in (the hotel didn't have any and we didn't bring ours).
We were wrong.

She didn't sleep at all in Williamsburg! She fell asleep and woke up within an hour. After that she stayed awake until 4:00am! Matt and I took turns walking her around the hallways of the hotel. We brought her to bed with us which she totally thought was playtime. She would give me a kiss, then lean over and give Matt a kiss. If we wouldn't have been so tired it would have been really cute, but she also did that about 100 times. She wasn't cranky at all either, just totally happy to be up all night.

Then came the morning and that's when the crankiness hit. Here we are in the hotel trying to get dressed and Addie was having a meltdown. Somehow she's learned that taking her cloths off gets me mad so she always does that. She calmed down pretty easily and the rest of the day was good.
Thankfully.

First we went to Jamestown.

Matt pointing to Spain where he served his mission.

Getting back to our Native roots.

They had authentic Native American homes we were able to walk through.

Addie got brave with the roosters! She was totally chasing them around!

They had really neat, authentic ships that we were able to explore and people dressed in the traditional dress to show us around.

Cute!

Christian and the nicest guide trying (successfully!) to rock the boat.

Addie learning how to make fish nets.

And trying on some armor. She hated it and threw it off before I was able to get a picture of her from the front.

Christian decided to preach a sermon.

And carry some water.
Nice look, sweet boy.
ps - it kind of looks like Bonnie's smoking in the background, but she wasn't, I can assure you!

After Jamestown we were all famished and headed over to Williamsburg to eat at a Tavern. I guess our exhaustion got the better of us because we put away our camera and didn't take any more pictures!
Oopsie.

Despite the all-nighter we had a wonderful time! Can't wait for our next adventure with Grandpa and Bonnie!
