river concert

Friday was our last day of kid camp. shelly hosted, and taught them all about bugs. I am so glad to have friends to help teach my kids all things that I will/can not. :) i think our kid camps have gone off amazingly well, a testament to our amazing kids and their amazing moms.

matt was supposed to be off work, but then was able to work a few hours of overtime, so our plans were in the air for the first half of the day. I shopped at bj's, tidied up, and puttered a little. when matt got home we puttered a little more. it ended up being a thoroughly unproductive day, but those are ok sometimes.

at 4 we headed to pick up the girls. they did the typical "ooooh, I don't want to go home!" as soon as I walked in. only to that they added the "daddy!!!" too, while running past me. thanks, guys, I love you too!

our first stop was to head to michaels, so addie the shopper girl could pick a few things. a picnic basket and lip gloss making kit did the trick, and we were off to the commissary for a few sundries. then we headed down to st. Mary's city for the second to last river concert of the season. summer is going by so quickly! it's so beautiful out there, I just love it. this was the third concert we've gone to.
the girls love it too. they run around and come up with all sorts of games. like riding the cooler horse, and stuff.
these fun friends and I chatted all evening. when the music stopped we all wondered at how the concert could be over so soon. it was such a crisp, nice night. and matt is such a good daddy, I love having him around. he took all the kids to make rockets while I sat and visited. then, after the concert he chased them all around the lawn, making sure no one got run over by any of the several golf carts running around picking up garbage.
we stayed an extra hour or so to let the crowd thin out. I know I keep saying this, but it really was another wonderful summer day.
