spring break report card -
relaxing - a
laziness - a (if it's good to be lazy) or f (if it's bad)
weather - f-
productivity - d
housekeeping - d
family time - b
basically the weather was terrible, cold and wet, and we didn't do much.
matt brought the girls in-n-out burger hats from arizona.
monday -
the little girls came in my room that morning (matt was still in phoenix) and while addie was excited to see me, frankie seemed worried and asked where auntie alli was. :)
then auntie alli took pity on me and took them downstairs for breakfast so i could sleep for a little longer. delaney was happy to see me too and nursed and hugged, it was very sweet. when we left addie for the first time, (she was also 14 months) we got back and she would let me hold her but she wouldn't look at me. it was like she was mad at me, it was so cute. :)
delaney fell asleep right before it was time to take alli back to the greyhound station so i left all the littles with the bigs and alli and i were off. we had a nice drive and i got all the low-down on the weekend. she said everything went really well, delaney ate and slept, slept and ate almost the whole time. frankie did not eat, but was sweet. and addie did eat and was a helper girl. they only ventured out to gymnastics, school, and mcdonalds once, but everyone seemed happy and content. laney started getting a runny nose and passed that joy onto alli, before spreading the love to frankie and addie. all in all, things went well and we can't wait for alli to come down and watch the kiddos again! ;)))
i dropped alli off in dc and continued on to baltimore to pick matt up. it worked out perfectly, i got there just as his plane was landing. when we got home we took turns napping and relaxing with the kids and that was our first day back.
tuesday -
game time with the girlies
(frankie's on a weird pose kick)
we did nothing.
again.
we were all still pretty tired from phoenix and the girls were all green runny nosed monsters, and the weather was still gross, so we literally did nothing. :) except laney, who decided she was done breastfeeding. i keep trying and trying, but she's not having any of it. i am engorged and in pain, and trying, and she's done. this wouldn't be that big of a deal, i know she's old enough, but she's a skinny little bad eater and breastfeeding was always an easy way to get her some nutrients.
sad, sad day.
wednesday -
i put addie to work.
she loved it, and honestly, she's about as good at it as the bigger kids, so you know. ;)
laura convinced me to go bowling with her crew.
delaney wasn't feeling too hot, so katie stayed home with her while she napped.
are these not the cutest things you've ever seen?
chubby 3-year-old bruised legs in bowling shoes?
shell love it!
the girls loved bowling!
except lexi, who declined to participate.
(at least she came!)
the boy loved bowling!
everyone loved bowling!
and we only got one ball stuck, so that was good too.
of course, this big girl wanted to do it by herself.
she wants to do everything by herself, including get dressed, as you can see.
roll the ball, and...
"yay!"
we ate pizza and french fries and onion rings and matt met up with us for a little break from work.
chris won the first game, and i won the second - with a whopping 106 score.
look out!
after the bowling we took lexi to applebees for her second interview where... she got a job!!!
she will be hostessing and she's excited and nervous.
i had to laugh at how quickly our perspective changes.
when she first started job hunting i said she had to stick to leonardtown.
then after months of nothing panning out, i expanded the search out to wildwood.
again, months of nothing.
finally i said anything in st. marys county, and applebees it is.
hopefully it will be a good thing and she'll like it. :)
thursday -
this pic did not happen on thursday, but it is awesome, so there.
family clean-up day.
always a good time.
it took me all day to get the floors done, and that was with lexi moving all tables and chairs, and chris putting them back. my life with 3 littles is sloooooooooow.
that night i ran errands, read: returned a million things. i now have store credit at kohls, lowes, and staples.
fun, fun.
i also hit the commissary and finished up easter shopping.
fun, fun!
"take a picture of me!"
friday -
matt was off and we did what we often do.
talk about all the things that need to be done, and then don't do any of them.
we did take chris on a mommy/daddy date to go see gi joe.
alexis offered to babysit in exchange for a ride to and from peter's house and an easter basket for him.
so we stopped at kmart for a peter easter basket and a potty treat for frankie, who sort of poo'd on the potty. we are still trying. while we were there, we donated a few dollars to the march of dimes and played some bball.
saturday -
we went to the fun easter carnival.
that night i went to the yw broadcast with this one:
a bunch of us met at red robin for dinner beforehand. it was great and the broadcast was phenomanal, but freezing.
now i'm all excited for general conference next week!
and all of our girls love to hit daddy!
sunday - i already wrote about. sick girls, no church for us.
monday -
finally, on the last day of spring break, we had a nice day.
i'll post about the morning later - lexi excitement!
but after naps that afternoon we went outside.
can you tell what she's been chewing on?
sidewalk chalk is delicious!
we pulled some weeds, picked up random wrappers and trash that had blown into our yard, cleaned out the car, and lost frankie. seriously, i couldn't find her for about 10-15 minutes. it was one of those where at first your not worried, and then a few more minute go by and you start to really search (house, car, yard, even the cooler!) and then a few more minutes go by and you start thinking of how far a kidnapper could be with your baby by now... you know! i'm shouting frankie! and almost calling neighbors to help join the search, when little frank the tank wanders around from the side of the house (i swear i looked all over the backyard and called for her!). i hugged her and told her how worried i was and asked her where she'd been and she said she was playing with the doggie. she took me back to the backyard to show me, but there was no doggie out there, so who knows. i'm just glad she's safe.
daddy got home and with lots to do, i took the girls to the park to give him some time.
alexis was at peter's baseball game and christian was at his lifeguard class at the college.
home, dinner, stories, cuddles, pick-ups, bed.
and that wraps-up a very homey spring break 2013.
