happy birthday to matt!

tuesday was matt's birthday.

he worked, of course, and then that night he had class and christian had a baseball game, so there wasn't a lot of time to make his day special. but we've been doing helium balloons and taking lunch for birthday's, so i thought it would be fun to do that for daddy also.

 

so we piled in our ray-raptor (what we named our very own dino-truck) and hit the dollar tree where i let them each pick a balloon. addie picked a plain red star, frankie picked a fancy pink birthday balloon with flowers all over it, and delaney picked a very fitting "how old are you?" candle balloon.

then it was off to the commissary where we cruised like this.



it's not as fun as it looks, believe you me.

laney kept slipping to the bottom and those two are crazy drivers.

thankfully it was a short'ish trip.

we got food to take matt a very random picnic lunch, just like he likes.

we got naan, hummus, spanish olives, pudding (he got his braces tightened on monday), fancy soda in glass bottles, dark chocolate german candy bar, german chocolate cookies, and lunchables for the girlies.

 

then we went to the exchange for daddy's present - a nice fancy black gerber tool.

later on frankie asked where daddy's baby tool was, so i figured she knows that gerber makes baby stuff, right? smartie girl. :)

 

then we went to daddy's work, and since it was cold and windy outside we went inside to a little lunch area and set up shop. he loved our random menu. :)

delaney's been trying to kick her caffeine addiction but it's been rough.

after lunch daddy drove us around to look at some airplanes and we got to see an unmanned jet taking off. pretty cool! then it was off to school for addie.

 

we picked up these fun scooby cups at the exchange since the girls were being so good through all our running around.



matt finally got out of class around 9:30, came and picked up girls from the game since it was f-f-freezing! chris and i didn't make it home till almost 10:30, when we sang to matt and had cake.

sometimes it's tough being a grown-up with a birthday, but i hope he felt special and loved. :)
