happy monday

to wrap up last week:
we hung out with shelly and crew a bunch. i watched her kids for appt's, she watched mine for appt's, tons of playtime and visiting time, it was great.

one funny thing from when i went to the lady dr on tues.
they are training a new dr, so she came in with carol for my exam and they had looked at my chart and seen that i had lost some weight. (13 pounds less than when i got pregnant with laney:) so when they came in, this new dr was ranting and raving about all the weight i'd lost and asking what i was doing and how, and i thought it was kind of weird how she kept going on and on. then she asked if i'd done any strenuous activity since i had the baby... i was like, yes, she's 14 months old... and then she realized that i wasn't there for my 6 week post-partum check. that's why she was freaking out, she thought i'd lost all the baby weight and then some in just 6 weeks.
okay, it doesn't seem as funny all written out, but it was pretty funny when it happened. :)

okay, what else did we do last week?
lexi worked, i had meetings, chris had practice, matt worked and worked and worked. we played outside a lot.
frankie had some crazy little girl frizz going on.
on friday night we rented life of pi and ordered pizza.
while we waited for our pizza we went on a family run.
christian and peter have been trash talking about who's faster, so they had a race, can you see them running? peter won.
frankie and i get ready in the morning.
i put on chapstick so much throughout the day, that even laney gets in on the action.
and if i put chapstick on and forgot to put some on her she gets pretty angry.
on saturday morning we ran the hospice 5k. matt's company paid for it, sweet!
it was huge! so many people!
we walked up to the race because it's only about a mile from our house, but of course we got off to a late start (it started at 8:30) so we got behind all the walkers and couldn't get running for forever. but we ran when we could and finished in 37:57. not too bad for how far behind all the walkers we were. matt placed 28th in his age division. :) i mistakenly got registered for the fun walk part, so who knows what my placement would have been. it's all good!
after the fun 5k we let the girls play at the park there and then hurried home to head to another park for christian's baseball game (they won 5-1, they look great this season!!!). while they practiced i let the little girls play, and now that laney's playing that was a little bit of work! at our little neighborhood park it's all good, but at this busy and big park i was getting a little nervous with 3 girls heading in 3 different directions!
we stood in line for snacks and laney laid her head on my shoulder and zzzzzzz.
she had a good long 2 hour nap in her stroller. :)
addie said "mommy, do you want to take a picture of me?"
love this big girl!
delaney loves chocolate. :)
and frankie does not love eating.
the rest of saturday brought with it opportunities to learn and grow and be better parents.
big deep breath.

since the 3 little girls were sickie poo's on easter sunday, they wore their easter dresses yesterday. only, it was a little chilly and they had to wear sweaters so it wasn't as cute. i tell ya, if i wasn't so cheap i would have these 3 matching all the time. and lexi if she'd let me. but it's hard to buy laney clothes when we have so many cute big sister hand-me-downs. and i know she and frankie won't always be content with hand-me-downs, so i am appreciating it now. but easter is special and matchy-matchy they will be!
we took our pasta bake over to mccombs last night and enjoyed a nice dinner. then laura and i plotted out a south carolina lighthouse strategy. we're thinking a nice mothers day gift to ourselves would be a sweet little road trip to sc for some serious lighthousing! can't wait!!!!

and i showed frankie how to peek into the kitchen window from the deck and now she does it all the time. it's pretty cute to see her big blond head peeking in while your washing dishes. :)
happy monday!
