ho hum

life is back to normal after spring break.
we've thankfully had a pretty clear week, which was good because we had laundry and messes up to our eyeballs. these three pretty girls are also pretty good mess makers.
on tuesday while christian and alexis were at a baseball game and matt was in class, the girls and i went and had dinner at mccombs. i can dig the way katie does those dishes!
my big accomplishment for tuesday was finishing the laundry.

on wednesday we were eating breakfast and delaney noticed the birds frolicking in our yard and she and frankie squealed and watched. signs of spring are everywhere, even though it rained and sleeted again tonight. rumor has it that monday will find us in the 70's and we.are.ready!
i'd been noticing laney's lips and sometimes her extremities have been looking a little purplish lately. i don't think that's a good thing, so last time it happened (over the weekend) i talked to matt and we decided we'd call the dr if it happened again. so i took her in at 2. that meant no nap for anyone and also a long day. delaney looks great, by the way, who knows what the purple is, but he didn't even see it. and we had a good and comforting chat about her eating, or lack of eating and how hard it's really been on me that she just up and quit breastfeeding. i really like dr. miller, he's very empathetic.
also, laney screamed the entire time the dr or nurse examined her. it was bad.

addie and i tried on glasses while we waited for laney's hyrocortisone cream rx.
that night matt had scouts, lex went out with friends and then to church, and chris had lifeguarding. that was a loooong day, have i mentioned that yet?
my big accomplishment for wednesday was dusting my room.

anyway, today and tomorrow matt isworking the late shift so i was able to leave laney with him while i took these two to gymnastics. between classes we went to the hershey store for our sack lunch and got donuts for a post lunch treat.
these girls make me laugh. :)
they really are so fun when i stop to have fun with them.
she saved half the sprinkles for later.
but 80's hair is for all the time.
while we were gone daddy and laney ate crepes and yogurt and appently laney says 'may-whee.'
daddy says she's obviously french.
speaking of laney.
she's has been kind of a whiny mess lately.
especially this afternoon.
i fear the terrible two's are strong with this one.
but then she'll play by herself and be just fine.
for example, while i'm blogging now she's taking empty grocery bags from their spot in the mudroom to a basket in the hall, and she's very proud of her work.
tonight chris had bball practice, lex had orientation at work, and matt was working late.
i have no big accomplishment for today except that everyone is alive and the sink is empty (lexi washed).
life is normal and good.

Matthew used to get blue fingers/ toes/ lips when he was little if he was the least bit cold. He's pretty much outgrown it, but will get blue lips easily.... They did EKG and all kinds of tests, but he was fine....

Scary about laney, but I have noticed that when Abby gets cold, her lips look blue. Like tonight at home after swim lessons. But maybe it is because I am more aware of blue now. Ellie ruined that ignorance for me! ;) It has turned into diagnosing everyone with a heart defect. I think we should all just get echos after birth. That's all! ;)
