Hawaii - Day 5

Time to say goodbye to Oahu. This place is beautiful and has such a special feeling, we loved every minute here!

We popped by Secret Beach on our way out so I could grab some sand and it was beautiful with the sun just beginning to rise.

I die.

We drive to the Nissan dealer and had to leave our car there with the key under the seat, which is kinda weird, but everything about this rental experience has been kinda weird. Aloha? πŸ€—

We took an uber to the airport and hopped on a flight, and 24 minutes later, aloha Kaua’i! Shortest flight eva!

And I can’t resist a little bit of Henry love from Maryland! He’s gonna be a different baby when we get back. Real smiles!!!

Our first stop 10 minutes from the airport was the Kukli Point Lighthouse.

We had to climb down the side of a golf course that was having a collegiate championship, but it’s all good.

Matt has said he’d lighthouse with me for a long time now, and he did great. Willing to trespass ( we didn’t, but he was willing) and all.

And from there we could see our next destination - the Ninini Point Lighthouse.

Closer.

We are having such a good time together! This has been so good for us.

Next light.

Matts been making fun of my pink outfit, but guess who flew comfortably? This chic in hot pink!

We drove a red dirt road to get to the light and Matt parked really close to the tall grasses to stay off the road. I opened the door and decided to climb through the drivers side.

And when he pulled out I saw this. 🀣

Our activity for the day was to mountain tube with Kaua’i Backcountry Adventures.

We took a truck out to the old sugar plantation.

And got going down the canal!

It was chilly water!

And unfortunately we got separated.

So many tunnels! More than I thought there’d be.

It was a 3 hour adventure with the guided tour drive out, 2.5 miles of tubing, lunch, and the guided tour back.

Towards the end they let us get back together with our group for their “professional” pictures.

Matt took them up on their offer of a clay mask.

Lunch was croissant sandwiches and chips. Not as delicious as we’d hoped, but still delicious.

We had no idea how realistic Moana is with the pigs and chickens everywhere. Pigs outnumber people on Kaua’i like, 15 to 1. You can hunt them anytime.

They feed them the leftover lunch food from their tours.

We finished up there around 5 and headed to our beachfront hotel. It’s a beautiful location, but the hotel is not in its heyday. We had been recommended Wailua Shave Ice, so we borrowed bikes from our hotel and took the most beautiful beach trail to the shop and had maybe the most delicious shave ice of my life. SO GOOD.

We sat outside our room and watched the waves for awhile before bed.

And that was a pretty perfect Saturday.
