Weekend away

The darrows and rays have been weekend kid swapping for a few years now. It is a wonderful way to get a nice break when grandparents are far away.

First stop - temple! We got there just before 12, but without enough time to make the 12:00 session, so we checked out the visitors center first.
After the temple we tried to check out a new restaurant we've had recommended, but it was closed. So we drove to silver spring town center and found a Lebanese place. We shared a sampler platter that was super yummy! And since there was lots of cucumber and tomato, we had enough room to split a coldstone treat.
We checked into our swanky 4-star hotel (that I didn't take a single picture of) before the main event of the weekend. Frey got Matt two tickets to see A Midsummer Nights Dream at the Folger Theater for Christmas, and Friday was the night! Our hotel is less than 2 miles away, but it was the coldest weekend of the winter season, so we über'd it there and back. It was great and probably cost less than a cab would have one way.

The Folger theater was gorgeous! First we got friendly with good ol' Will.
We had some time to kill, so we had lots of time to people watch and enjoy the theater.
Beautiful library where, incidentally, we weren't allowed to touch the books.
Yup, I could do some reading up in here.
We were in the 5th row, amazing seats!
The play was really good. Super funny and very well done. The only bad thing was that I was so sleepy! It was interesting and I liked it, but my head was bobbing from nodding off. #officiallyold

It was a wonderful, freezing, sleepy first day!
