what a weekend!

saturday was a busy working day.
*matt finished cleaning and detailing the carseats and 2 of the 3 cars.
inside and out, those cars are clean.
*i tackled some indoor lingering list items. the girls played outside with matt for a long time, so i was actually able to get a lot done.
*alexis went with alyssa and the badgers to kings dominion for "fright fest." she reported that she hated it and even though it would be fun to work there and do the scaring, it's not so much fun to be the one scared. and even though i requested pictures several times, i got nothing.
*christian camped. he got home around 7, dirty, smelly, and happy.
*addie and frankie played.
*laney broke a large jar of pickles and cut her finger and pickle juiced our food storage room. i was putting away groceries and she was "helping." she knocked the jar over and boom, broken. :(
thankfully she only got a small cut, and my hero matt came down to help with the pickle fiasco.
(as he was in the midst of still cleaning the ant fiasco.)
lots-o-fiasco's.

sunday started off rough for little miss addie. she didn't make it downstairs before she'd thrown up.
she came in my room to say good morning and then was headed downstairs when i heard moaning. i went out to see what was going on and she was laying on the landing throwing up. :(
she started first thing that morning and didn't stop till monday morning.
and then for good measure once more this morning, just so she didn't have to go to school i think. ;)
sweet girl threw up no less than 20 times, including about every 2 hours overnight.
we set up a bed for her in our room and thankfully matt woke up with us every time. he'd hold her head, i'd grab her water, tissues, and rub her back. we make a good sick team.

one thing i will say about add's, she is a champion thrower upper. she made it into the bucket 95% of the time, she didn't complain, she didn't cry. even when her little tummy was empty and she was throwing up bile, (the point where i break down) she didn't cry.
she's a pretty sweet sicky-poo.

we decided that matt would stay home with sicky so he could use the quiet time for reading.
so i got to sub for christian's sunday school class, which was fun. i made cookies, cause how can you not like a lesson that includes cookies?

on sunday night i discovered that lady lanes has sprouted fangs. both of her canine teeth are coming in! neither top front teeth, just the fangs. she wants to be just like her bestie ellie. :)
it's pretty tough to get pictures, but pretty sure it's that white spot at the top right of her mouth. or if that's not it, it's in that general vicinity.
monday morning dawned early and tired. i got the big kids off to school and headed back to bed. addie was still throwing up, so when frankie woke up matt got up with them. around 8:15 (so about 15 minutes later) he came in and said how good it was to be a parent. and that alexis had cut her finger at seminary and the school nurse thought she needed to have it checked.
deep breath.

so off we went to the er, again.
i tried her pedi first but they said she would need an xray and we'd need to go through the er anyway.
lame.
she slammed her finger in the mccombs big truck door and she slammed it good. everyone that saw it shuddered a little bit, it looked pretty gross. it bled all day and pretty sure she'll lose her nail. that's the part she's the most sad about, she loves her nails.
thankfully monday morning is not a super busy time in the er (shocker) so we were outta there pretty quick.
since we'd gotten little to no sleep, matt decided to stay home from work.
projects, projects, projects.
he safetified our toy shelf and girls dressers by putting these hooks on them. that way if the girls climb, which they do, they wont fall on top of them.
christian went to basketball conditioning last night too. he thinks he can make the freshman team. tryouts are nov 15, fingers and toes crossed!

and early this monday morning (becoming a habit) a certain blondy girl came into our bed. she thrashed around and rolled and loved on us. after a few minutes of that, matt went to frankie's bed. i thought that was fair because he'd been up with laney for a few hours in the middle of the night because she decided to cry and cry and cry for no reason.
they.are.out.to.get.us.
when i got up with the big kids, blondy followed.
this is how she napped on the couch.
she wouldn't have napped either, but i decided to keep cnn on and she got bored.
things i'm thankful for:
*matt:
a) he saves me from lots of annoying little messes and doesn't even give me a hard time
b) he wakes up with sick and crying babies
c) he doesn't mind doing it, he even seems like he enjoys it

*healthy kids - thankfully we don't deal with vomit very often
*being able to stay home with the babes - it would be so much harder to coordinate this crew with another job

It is fortunate that these kind of weekends happen only once or twice a decade. Ants!?! Yikes!!
