the rest of friday:
matt has a new class with a lot of work so i had the fun job of keeping the littles away so he could work.
so we took a long trip to the park to enjoy the beautiful fall weather (while it lasts).
some one's not super sure about the swings.
and those are hurricane sandy clouds up there.
it was cloudy and windy for all of thursday, friday, and saturday.
but this one loves 'em.
happy one minute...
and done the next.
franks found a fun new toy.
she'd hold on and i'd spin her fast.
and she'd fly off.
and land laughing in a heap.
fun for hours.
that night i took christian and boys to a halloween party and totally embarrassed chris by talking to the parents before i left. he really should be thankful that i agreed to wait in the car and just have them come to me. i'm not totally unreasonable. still not ready for all this growing up business.
then they had a sleepover here.
crazy boys.
saturday was more busy, busy, busy.
matt got started on his studies right away and i made a trip out for gas, balloons (for peter's birthday), and a crimper (for halloween costume).
then chris left to play basket ball, i drove lexi to peter's, then made chili and cornbread for the trunk or treat. we ate lunch and headed to the library for hurricane entertainment (books and movies), then to the square for trick or treating on the square.
just me and my posse.
surprisingly the little fairy didn't want to ride, she wanted to run.
she's usually my lazy girl. :)
relaxing.
trick or treating is hard work.
we passed by this huge pile of gorgous leaves and i had to just had to try to get some pics.
but laney couldn't spread her legs to stabilize her (what with the hot dog costume and all) so she was falling over.
addie the helper girl was like, "oh, i'll hold her up!" (:
needless to say, it didn't work out too well.
the animal shelter was out and brought a giant dog that everyone loved.
and our last stop at the front porch.
by this time everyone had lost their steam.
the little witch couldn't handle her wig or hat (it was pretty windy) and both she and the fairy had asked to go home several times.
the hot dog was done too.
get it? the hot dog was done?
we came home and hurried to naps so we would be ready for more halloween fun that evening.
that's us, fun, fun, fun!
