So long, Seacruisers!

Amy’s crew flew back home Saturday afternoon.

So Matt and I caught a ride to the airport with them, where unfortunately Amy left her phone in the Uber. Fortunately, he was an honest driver and we were able to meet up with him the morning we flew out and bring her back her phone.

It’s always a good time for selfies in the kitchen!

It’s not goodbye for long as we’ll be seeing these yahoos this weekend for Poke Fest, so no one was too sad.

Things got a lot quieter after they left!

We picked up our British ride and Matt became a left side of the road driver!

I navigated him, and with a roundabout every half mile or so, that was a full time job! I helped him remember to stay to the left and we worked well together and he did a great job. We *lightly* hit a few curbs on the left, but the tire rims were banged up when we picked the car up and the assured us they don’t worry about the rims. 😂

We found an Uber for my dad and he was off to Wilmslow for a few days of relaxation before heading home.

Who likes candids now?

We dropped Alli at the train station for her London adventure and then headed north to the temple in Preston. We got lucky and it happened to be the closing weekend of the British Pageant there and they had a bagpiper out on the grounds bagpiping away.

I waited with Delaney while Matt and the girls did baptisms.

When the big girls got done we walked around the temple and then I met up with matt and we spent a few minutes in the celestial room together. ❤️

Apparently you have to have permission from the temple president or matron to do that, but luckily I had run into the assistant matron (unbeknownst to me) and she had given me directions and “approved” my visit. ❤️

The ponds outside the temple have these cool lily pads in them which was unique and pretty.

We checked into our hotel, which was on beautiful grounds, and could be really pretty, and was in the process of being really pretty, but wasn’t quite there yet.

Also, we had to get 2 rooms (for the price of 1 really) so the girls got to have their own room and then we had our “deluxe room,” that was really the same as the girls, downstairs.
We grabbed dinner and then headed back towards the temple for the pageant.

They had a cute fair set up and our girls absolutely loved playing with the giant bubbles.

And they were really good at it too.

We did some bowling where I got a spare. 💪🏻

It was so cute and fun!

The second fav after bubbles was archery, where I knocked down one of the buckets. Just one, but still. 💪🏻 💪🏻

I’ve been to the Mesa Easter pageant, Nauvoo pageant, Palmyra pageant, and now the British pageant.

It was so good! So much UK pride. At one point they had a flag runner for each of the countries in the UK and had dancers dancing their traditional jigs.

I had never really thought about what that large migration of British saints did to the saints left behind, and also those proud saints that didn’t necessarily want to leave their homeland, but did because they were commanded. It was powerful and I’m so grateful we were able to experience it.

We parked in a field a few miles from the temple and they provided double decker buses to take us there and back. We got lucky and were able to get the best seats in the front top of the bus on the way home. Our fav!

And finally, all lit up and beautiful.
